Thinking about a silly day trip to WC tomorrow with the kiddos. We are tired of skiing groomers. Anyone ski there this week? Maybe a few inches down there tonight...Yay or nay?

^^^ DO IT
5 and 9 are opening today. Be there. Then maybe post in the grass and rocks thread.
I was at wolf creek on Thursday. Only hit 1-2 rocks.
Knife ridge is open. And the few lines on it that are skiable were really good!

That was a nice little surpirse- 3" at CBMR and 8" in the bc according to the CBAC
9 isn't even a lift at vail wtf
I wanted to ski vail today but homie that we were carpooling up with only had keystone / a basin pass.
Got to keystone and was stoked on my first run of the season.
Dodged a little kid on schoolmarm who swerved into my way at the last second, forcing me to ski in the snowmobile lane. I thought nothing of it and continued shredding the gnar that is schoolmarm. Saw some yellow jackets and smiled at them.
1000 yards down the yellow jackets were freaking out waving me down. I stopped, thinking that they were going to yell at me for hitting the kickers on the side of the trail or some shit.
22 year old bro from Indiana who lives in employee housing demanded to see my pass for "skiing in the snowmobile lane"
I told him that the only reason that I was even in the snowmobile lane was that I was avoiding a small child.
Dude told me that "if you continue to keep that attitude with me I will take your pass."
I'm done with vail resorts after this season
Edit to add: while the yellow jacket took my pass there was a dude openly drinking a 40 ounce of steel reserve and numerous people skiing way out of control for the conditions.
Minnie's mile !!!
Rode with a troller today who said reservations were way down and they were encouraged to get 9 and 5 open. Only the far skiers right (Ricky's ridge and beyond) isnooen and it's thin...was fun skiing though. Yonder trees skied great on the new 9.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
it was worth it. That 6" was a very nice surprise and it skied like much more than that up top. The place was empty, and most of the people that were there were sticking to the main drag. I've only ever skied wolf creek before during a huge storm when the entire front range descended on little area, so it was really nice to ski a lesser pow day with no people. We skied untracked in the Alberta trees well into the afternoon.
Here's the boys skiing off of Alberta Peak sometime after lunch:

Coverage at Vail was better than I thought, but I had no intentions of going to the back. Lots of little tree tops, but really not very rocky at all. No core shots which is always good.
Made a trip down to monarch for opening day on Friday. It was fun to ski more than the WROD, but I also hit a ton of rocks.
They opened Sundown today. That was awesome too. 5 runs there, then back to my stash for a few laps, then skinned 10 3 times which was incredible before going out east. Between that and yesterday, I'm fuckin beat. Damn it felt good to ski some real terrain.
It's getting blustery out there. Get some of the snow off the roof at least.
Looks like some pretty cold temps coming in. Hopefully it doesn't get too cold and we don't get any snow out of this storm.
snowing all day long in scummit just that bullshit snow alittle here and alittle there, then it started unleashing around 3pm not stopping not slowing down breck calls a foot tomorrow
