TWTR +2.5% a couple of news reports out this morning that Salesforce.com and Twitter are still exploring acquisition talks. Evercore ISI also upgraded the stock to hold from sell with a $17 target. The analyst cited the fallout in share price from the stalled sales process.

all those monkeys said hold the day before they crashed it with a paid hit piece

salesforce would be terrible for everyone / why they think it would help them is beyond reason/ beyond that twitter has more cash on hand than CRM has

so how does a buyout work? shitty software stock?

Been long airlines, short euro, short 20yr UST, lukewarm on energy/crude.

Debating whether to add downside hedge or get more long on this retest of 2015 breakout in the S&P

Agreed twtr is a gamble in terms of r/r being ambiguous.

No it's more like the projects. Those concrete monstrosities built in the late 70's, early 80's to house all those folks who couldn't/can't afford housing. Then they came up with something called sub-prime loans for people who couldn't/can't afford housing. Now they build really small sheds, and stick a kitchen and a bathroom in it, and called it a tiny house.

But back to the stock market tanking. I think we're looking at a slow and steady grind down to sub 17K by year end. I could be wrong, and the stock market goes the other way. I'm going to be like one of those high paid economist, and say there's a 50/50 chance that the market trades sideways until year end. With the added caveat, that if something catastrophic happens, then we could see some market volatility.

Trend seems up based on behavior near lows today. Biotech was outperforming the whole time so I'm inclined to think it's a leading indicator here. Recently it's been getting hammered, so being relatively strong on a panic day suggests institutional rotation into bios.

    But, what do I know?

Airlines great today as well, counter trend movement in bonds, hoping they continue to sell off as money moves into equities.

Nikkei back over 17000. International stocks can run higher for a while.
