Hey STFU, I'm thinking about selling my S4 wagon and going the Golf R route. I did some poking around and you can get a tune from http://www.eurodyne.ca and a down pipe from http://www.ctsturbo.com/cart/product...pe-4792-0.html
and add 102hp and 132lb-ft of torque for like 1200$ Canadian.

Crazy how much potential that little 2L has, even with the stock turbo.

Saw these two beauties at a local dealer I visit some times. The interior of the NSX was red leather, but I couldn't get a good picture of it, the windows were too dark. The Lambo looked like a fucking brute sitting next to the Acura. I think the yellow black and red paint job on it is actually a wrap, the red stripe had the Pirelli logo in it.

If you like the Audi, I bet you'd enjoy it... go drive one. I'm torn on whether I would have preferred the dynamic chassis control - not that one was available... But if you can drive both, do it. Don't know if you're a manual or dca sort of guy. People seem to like the auto, but it's not for me. The feel of the 6-speed is a little mushy, but there's a $125 upgrade that fixes that.

Still super happy with the Golf R and don't wish I was driving something else. Not that it's my favorite car ever, but all things considered it's definitely my favorite car to own right now. Fantastic compromise between sportiness, comfort, looks, functionality, awd, price, warranty, etc.

Lots of stories out there of dealers turning off the warranty for the various stage 1 tunes that are available. I'm going to wait until it's north of 30k miles and then I'll either tune it or sell it.

I think they've improved the styling a bit in recent editions...

There's no way of getting around the fact that the car is a compromise at heart. To one degree or another, the gti platform always has been. But they've succeeded in making a car that is both fun to drive and easy to live with - especially around here. Definitely wouldn't rather have an STi, RS, or S3.

You gonna lower that thing and black out the corner lights?

I have 3-way adjustable suspension and transmission in the wagon. It's nice. I use it.

The Coupe has hydraulic active suspension. That is the real deal.

"Active Body Control, or ABC, is the Mercedes-Benz Brand name used to describe fully-Active suspension, that allows control of the vehicle body motions and therefore virtually eliminates Car mishandling in many driving situations including Cornering, Accelerating, and Braking."

Wow! Your pos merc has the same fancy suspension as a $40k VW! You're really moving up in the world... in a year or two, you might make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in!

Seen a few Maserati coupes this year of different years/models. They seem to have a good formula without too much bullshit. Cool ARs. I didn't have much exposure to the brand growing up so they're not very familiar.. they look like a lot of fun.

If all the contingencies suddenly didn't exist, I'd be driving this tomorrow:

The wagon is 12 y/o car.

ABC is fully automatic and includes separate hydraulically controlled suspension components. Not just shocks with a "sport" button.

Yawn... your merc's an overpriced, overweight, pos for dudes who need to compensate. Today it's worth about the same as DD's Sonata. Bet you have a fancy watch to wear while you drive it.

Two completely different cars. Chances are a Golf R would destroy that CL600 on a track. I was at a track event a couple days ago, and a Civic was having his way with all the rich Porsche guys. I loved it.

The CL600 looks more expensive (even though that depreciation is horrific), and does go fast..... eventually.

This VW puts that CL to shame though. Twin turbo W12 with 616hp.

That is the Maserati Alfieri concept.

Unfortunately that will be the end of Maserati IMO. The big Gran Turismo is the last bastion of true Maserati heritage. I have spent a lot of time in Maseratis and I love the Gran Turismo.

Enter the Ghibli chassis on everything, and a choice of two V6TTs.

Hopefully they will put the V8TT from the QP GTS in the Alfieri.

^^ That's a great looking car but I'm partial to real front fenders, broad shoulders and fastbacks.

Couldn't see the video on my phone last night. Nice 7 second crawl from 10-60mph! (That's KPH you know, right? Your box o' lead doesn't do 230mph.)

DD's Sonata might even take you in a drag race..

I'm partial to the 6-speed as well. My S4 is a fun car but heavy as all hell. The V-8 with a moderate tune and exhaust sounds incredible however. Speaking of which, if anyone is looking for a low mile, US spec 07' S4 Avant 6-speed fully optioned pm me.

I like the idea of a small, nimble, AWD 300+ hp car that is reasonable to daily drive. The fact that is can easily make more power than my S4 for very little money makes it a pretty compelling package as well. Not to mention is doesn't look like a boy racer car. It is a pretty cool little sleeper.

I think the sleeper factor is my favorite thing about it... both in terms of not standing out, and also in how it drives. The visual factor is great. No one notices it, except for the occasional enthusiast for whom it's a full on youtube moment. And the STi guys seem to see it coming and don't want to mess with it. And it's a sleeper to drive in that the engine is quite torquey and it's easy to drive around at low revs (<2k rpm) and at normal speed. Even the non-dcc suspension is firm enough to drive quickly, while being pliable enough not to rattle the shit out of everything on the crappier roads around here. Awesome car. Can't wait for snow.
