I was at the Shoreline show. Hadn't been back to Shoreline since the last time I saw the Grateful Dead, 6/3/95. The experience and musicianship I saw last Saturday beat the original experience hands down. I went with my Sister (who got me "on the bus" in the first place) and girlfriend, and ran into a good friend from my adopted hometown in the crowd.
The entire first set and the first half of the second set were everything I could have hoped for. "Days Between" is an energy suck for me so that pretty much ruined the 2nd half of the 2nd set but the encores had energy.
All in all it was the most emotional concert I've ever been to. The standout moment for me was the unexpected and seamless transition between Slipknot! and Shakedown Street. For many reasons I think that 30 seconds will be the most personally significant piece of music I will hear in my life.
Still not completely sure if you liked it or not....
