I wanted this thing to drive tacks and a 7lb gritty pos won't cut it. I hate garbage triggers.

Isn't there a forum for you AR nerds?

Looking for a 9mm for general carry during hunting season. I have small hands...
Anyone like the Ruger SR9, they're pretty cheap and seem to get good reviews. MP Shield? Pay the extra for a 19?

Haven't had a chance to go into town to fondle any of them yet.

    GUNS!!!!!!!!

I have a shield and really enjoy shooting it. Carries real well.

Are you looking for a defense gun from 4 leg large critters or two legged ones?

G19 is one of the best built and sized 9mm's out there. Not really great for small hands, it's the same diameter grip as the full sized guns, but pick one up and see how it feels in your hands.

Mostly a noise maker for 4 legged critters, but also two legged ones while camping and in the sticks.

Ok, Shield, XD, Glock. All make excellent guns at good prices. I would go look at a few and see how they feel in your hands. My Shield shoots awesome for me. I'm not a big Glock fan, the grips feel weird in my hand, like holding a Lego block.

    SR9 is meh.

Wanting a fullsize, a compact or a sub-compact/single stack pistol?

My personal favorite 9mm is the Walther PPQ. Amazing trigger, nice ergonomics, and have replaceable backstrap that allows you to size down the grip.

My carry rotation is PPQ when it's moderate temps and then the Walther PPS M2 when it's hot as shit and I'm wearing board shorts and a t-shirt.

<shameless plug>Also, if need a holster... www.gunfightersinc.com - I offer a Mag discount. For your hunting stuff our Kenai holster would probably something to look at.</shameless plug>.

But let me know what size gun you want and I can steer/give pros and cons. We talk about this shit a lot at work. If you want you can even call me at the office and I'd be happy to help you out.

Get a brake for it. PWS FSC556. All the cool guys run brakes on the AR15. (Or a can...)

No, that's HK... and if you shot my PPQ or my PPS M2 I'm willing to bet you'd want both.

I shoot lots of pistols with work. For a stock gun, the PPQ has easily the best trigger on the market. Yes, for several hundred dollars you can have a trigger in just about anything pimped out, but the PPQ beats pretty much everything custom I've shot other than 1911 or CZ single action race guns, which you wouldn't want to carry anyways.

I spend a lot time chasing Ruffed and Blues in bear/cat territory, the Kenai looks like it might not be super compatible with swinging a shotgun around for birds? Think its probably better off on my hip by the bear spray?

Thinking full size or maybe compact, I like the idea of greater capacity. Not super interested in carrying concealed in urban enviros. Any Kahr feedback? Would rather keep it cheap so I can put money towards a nice O/U. Hadn't looked at Walther's, thought they were only for secret agents.

We position the strap so it's on your off-side... therefor no stock/holster interference.

Kahr's are absolute garbage compared to other guns.

Guns I'd look at in that size:
    Glock 19
    Walther PPQ
    HK VP9
    SIG P320C

Those are the best 4 guns on the market at the moment for what you're looking for, in my opinion. Of those I like the PPQ best, followed by the VP9. The Glock 19 and the 320 are a toss up, would choose the Glock if it has a 3.5# Ghost Trigger Bar over the 320. But stock the Glock trigger is meh.

You guys should drive over here and we can tear it up. I got enough steel targets to sink a ship. Perhaps NW_Skier and a few others would enjoy to partake as well.

I wear mine with a day pack all the time. I think it would be compatible with a long gun.
