Trail finder app

What's the best trail finder and trail information Android app? I'm about to set off on a cross-country trek and was hoping for one that would give an overview of the trail, trailhead directions, and GPS topo map that I can use while biking so as to not get lost. I can pay a few bucks for it. Bonus points if it includes rails to trails as well.

I'd suggest that you get both MTB project and Trailforks. Some places are more on one than the other, and you just need to look at both (based on a recent trip to Southern Utah and AZ). They both interact with Google maps and get you driving directions. MTB project has better descriptions and Trailforks maps are more complete, eg show you the nearby trails instead of just the one you are researching. Download both ahead of time while you have wi-fi and then load in the maps of the states you'll be traveling through. Saves time and bandwidth on the road.

And...if the trails are built by a local club, stop in at a shop and buy a map if they have one. They are often an important part of fundraising for trail construction and maintenance.
