No, pretty sure he just thinks it's funny---and it is.

You're da man, I am amazed how you figure all this stuff out.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Love some hooligan sideways WRC action, though safety regs have changed a lot since Group B days the scenes of cars at full attack with hoards of spectators around never seems to change! Given how nuts this sports is I have no idea why it is such a euro centric thing - the WRC has been struggling for years, it is such a shame. Tough to view and televise well I guess, so instead we have F1 where we can watch cars in fuel management and taking care of tyres instead *yawn*.

Fuck ya. Learned to drive on the dirt roads of VT. Fun. Before they paved most of them in my home town. Those fuckers. This may sound funny, but my mom's 85 Toyota Tercel hatchback was a lot of fun on those roads. The tiny square boxy one. It was like a go cart. Totally under-rated and under-appreciated. And when we got it stuck we could lift it out of trouble if we had enough people.

X2. Had a Nissan Sentra of the same approximate vintage, grew up on a dirt road. My more modern vehicles, while nicer in most ways, are definitely inferior when it comes to twisty dirt roads.

My 83 Nissan Stanza was a riot on dirt roads. Skinny tires, 5spd, and a great E-brake.

my memory may be faulty but back when the Renault Le Car 5 like this:Name: renault.jpg

was dominating/competing in the 80s (and the original Audi Quattro ones) I remember watching a rally in Spain or Portugal where at one of the stage checkins the co driver handed a spectators arm out the window that had been cut or torn off when the crowds got to close to the A-pillar as the car sped through a village

There is a reason Sentras were used by many as an entry level Rally car.

Tough to view is the biggest hurdle I think. Usually a live spectator on a stage gets to see 40 cars go by once a minute for 3-5 seconds each. That is a total of 120-200 seconds total of action. Granted, it is pretty fucking spectacular action but it is very fleeting.
If all rallys could have a spectator point like this one I watched in NH several years back then we might have something. At some points I could watch three cars on course at the same time!
