Heh. Buying a hardy gen4. Pretty cheap over here. Also, there's no tax stamp idiocy on those things. Got a brake for it,but it fucks up the entire semi lithe visage of the thing. A pound of steel in the front is a lot better. .
Edit: I do realize the bipod looks positively enormous, but it weighs just a touch more than a Harris.

I sure hope the measure to take suppressors off the NFA list passes. I will certainly buy purpose made units then.

FYI, Krebs Customs is taking orders for their AC-15Mod2 Thursday. If you like AKs this is literally the best of the best.

Also a shout out for Luckygunner.com for some really good deals on ammo recently.

Picked this bad boy up for my dad recently. S&W 41 mag. Target trigger, target hammer. Put 24rnds thought it last weekend, what a sweet shooter, makes me want to keep it. Delivering it next weekend. I think he will be stoked since he has wanted one for for a few years now.

But it's fully modular. So if you're a bad mother fucker, you can carry 2 pistols.

There's a Walther in one of the pictures too, and the AAC Silencer has a piston in it for an HK USP45 Tactical. So there, not all Glocks. :-)

Gotta love the 3rd gen S&W's. Any chance the holster can be more vertical? I like the idea of a shoulder holster for some occasions but sweeping all behind me makes me uncomfortable.

Just signed up for a lifetime membership at Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. Stoked to receive the Kimber Pro Carry II in .45acp I will get as a thank you gift. Any input into this handgun would be much appreciated--it's definitely my first 1911 and will probably be the nicest handgun in my safe, though I might still prefer to shoot my VP9.

No feedback on the gun, but props as these folks have been about the most vocal group I've heard of late on the public lands issues.

Yeah, they're the real deal and obviously very passionate people. Frankly, without peeps like them, you and I will be out of business pretty soon....

So, .243 or .270 for my first rifle. Thinking deer and speed goats. No desire to shoot varmints. Leaning toward the .270. Savage Axis has great reviews, as much as I'd like to reach for a Tikka.

Why not a 280? Heaps better bullet selection than the 270,definitely more energy on impact than the 243. Talking out of my ass,of course,as I just got my first,a 280 ackley, and my rifle shooting experience is limited to about 500 rounds.

I've been hunting with my 280 Remington in Montana for 15 years and think it is a great all around rifle. I've had good clean, single shot kills on everything from small antelope to bull elk. The selection on bullets is endless if you reload because it uses the same as all the .7mm magnums. Factory ammo selection is smaller but definitely more than adequate. I'm sure the same could be said about a .270 too.

I'm a big .270 fan. Been using it to hunt deer since I was 12. Great ballistics, flat trajectory and plenty of knockdown power. I personally prefer it to .308.

Read up on Jack O'Connor. He was an old school gun writer who basically spent his career singing the praises of .270 Win.

Savage's are great value's. Good shooters for little money, but they just aren't pretty.

That said, if you look around you can probably find a great deal on an old Model 70:

They shoot very well, and are pretty too If you pick one up, let me know. I'm sitting on a bunch of old weaver flip to side scope mounts from the late 60's that are perfect on M70. I had a couple from my dad, and then found a bunch of them on ebay a few years back and bought 7 more to sit on as spares since they were cheap.
