True story: musky fishing with my brother; the fish are on a bite, we caught five or six monsters in a half hour. One other boat is working the area. We get close to them, and notice that only one guy is casting, while his friend is sitting in the front of the boat drinking beer. We approach and start chatting; seems the beer guy has a huge treble hook going clear through his thumb. His friend wouldn't go in because the fish were biting, and they didn't have a wire cutter. We lent them a cutter, they cut off the barb and pulled the hook out; guy was almost crying with joy (or maybe it was the twelve beers he had consumed.) They kept fishing, though; dedication.

Buddy and I were chucking saltwater spooks for pike. He set on a blowup and missed. His spook came ripping back and slapped up against the side of my head and right eye. The lure stuck to my face like Velcro. Luckily no major damage to me, some blood was all, hooks never made it past the barbs, thank god as there were 4 trebles on it. Scratched the shit out of my lens, saved my eye fosho!

That looks like he got it in the conjunctiva of the upper lid, lucky. We had a guy come in a couple years ago who was salmon fishing on the Columbia and he took a big treble hook right in the globe and it tore through his cornea and schlera(white part) severely damaging the uvea including the iris. It was gnarly.
