Awesome sleeper day yesterday. 4" in the driveway, barely anything on the useless snowstake at the wood, and 15"+ in many spots on powderhouse
Yodadog is impressed
TahoeBC is also impressed
Right up until he isn't
So much so he decides to dig a hasty head pit
Then we skied pow

Go Yodadog
I am not in your hurry
Doh!
looks like I need some remedial education:
1. never get off the boat
2. never forget the 1st rule of fight club
3. ALWAYS GO SKIING
(even if there's only 3" in the driveway).

Those tree shots are the best
nice shots powdork,
I didn't even know it was a powder day until my lady decided at 5am that the pillow she wanted in the car for the drive was the one under my head.
I'm out for the next two weeks resting a knee injury from windsurfing (....of all the ways to get hurt)
Amazing weekend. i never left the resort, as it has been a bell to bell family time weekend. More great runs today including untracked off 10 at 2:45. Okay, maybe t was recycled, wind blown deposits, but it skied great. Landings have been so money the past two days. More tomorrow morning, then a break until the 26th, when I get three or four days to do whatever I want. Hope the touring is good.

TGR forums cannot handle SkiCougar !
I wasn't going to go up this week. I was fine with it. Sure, it was going to snow and that would set things up great for January. But Tuesday / Wednesday looks too good to pass up...
You Guys are killing Me. Stuck in Tijuana till Jan 1 Keep the Slaying Going. Glad to have great snow!!!!!!
If you're gonna ski Tuesday ... Bring the powder cords, your most rockered boards and detune your binding pressure!
Could be 2' of upside down wind loaded knee-severing mashed potatoes ... Not to mention huge piles of concrete debris in the runouts.
If I only had two days to pick, seems like Thursday/Friday would be much friendlier conditions. I haven't seen a wind forecast for Thursday's storm yet though ... Need to bring 213 out of retirement!

People should be scared of this week and hunker down in their condos!!
Does anyone at Kirkwood even look at their snowstake?

This one is warm so far--snowing but not accumulating at 6000. Waiting to see if anything opens with the wind.

rain here in South Lake for at least 2 hours this morning, some flakes showing up now at 9 am.
Right now the snow stake cam isn't even showing on the website. It must have been easier to take it down than to fix it.
Snowing at 7,700' all morning and blowing sideways
While the skiing has been phenomenal so far this season, I recently got some bad news concerning a legendary local member of the bc community around here. If you have spent any amount of time in the backcountry around Tahoe, the eastern Sierra, and Shasta, then there is a good chance you may have come across Ed. If you have come across Ed, you would prolly remember it as you don't normally meet an african american pushing 80 years old on the skin track. Always smiling, sharing beta, and charging, Ed has always been an inspiration to me and many others always thinking to ourselves how rad it would/will be to be getting after it as hard as Ed does in his 70's. This year, while we are being blessed with snow, we will probably not be blessed with eds company at the trailhead and on the uptrack as he is currently battling leukemia. He may not post here but I know he does lurk from time to time so I wanted to take this opportunity to conjure up as much positive energy vibrations from us all to send out to a real local backcountry legend.
Keep on shining ed++++++++
