Totally agree, however John Kimmich swears he prefers his heady toppers best after they've been in the fridge for about a month.

Invited a bunch of my UT touring partners over last night and we polished off 5 growlers of Hill farmstead. Shit got crazy! I Still have a bunch of headies, SOS, tributes, and lost nation Gose to drink. hopefully after a sick powder day.
Dude how did you get 5 growlers of HF to UT? Someone drive em cross country for you?

How are your tributes? I just got some cans dated 11/4 that are a little off I think... I prefer SOS to heady. One of these days I'll get to try a Focal Banger. So many people I talk to would rather drink
It than Heady. Love the Gose from lost nation!

Drove them cross country last week. I spend summers in VT. Big fan of tribute, they may have been off, but usually pretty crushable. The Hills are a little off lately since they moved to their new facility, just a little sharp on the finish, but still tasty.

You try the lost nation wind yet? It's their Gose, dry hopped with citra and grapefruit. It's unreal.

^Nice work bringing HF to UT. Agree they've had some misses since expansion but some of the batches off the new system totally dialed so I have faith it will all be sorted out in time. Still find their beer, when where it is designed to be, the most enjoyable around. Criminally crushable (hence the 5 growler disappearing act!)

had the chance to get to Dillon Dam Brewery on my recent trip to ski some pow. Our own shredgnar is the brewmaster and we sampled a few of his offerings. The Here's your Dam IPA, and the new DIPA were both excellent. We actually discussed whether being accessible, and making an exceptional product spoils customers into a complacency that sends them looking elsewhere for more hard to get beers.

Both of these had a west coast maltiness that wasn't off putting to a hard core- EC IPA hop fan like myself. The 8% double had a well hidden alcohol and awesome mouthfeel. Well done Shredgnar, thanks for the beers, you're an excellent chemist. I'll be back.

I showed up after skiing some fresh at Vail, had a Treehouse King Julius at the car, then another in the village. By the time i was done at DDB, i was unexpectedly lit. I woke up at 3am like "what the fuck happened"

Theres a place in northampton that I haven't been to in years. The Brewery. Any idea how their stuff is now?

PS: Shedgnar- douche your inbox, it's full. I left you a Second Fiddle, Treehouse Curiosity 23, and a think a Julius?

Good meeting ya MMP, thanks for the beers, luckily I found them before my guys did! Definitely will be drinking those with Xmas dinner!

You gotta watch your intake up here at altitude. Especially when drinking 7-8% abv IPA's

I've actually been considering reducing the amount of crystal malt in the beer to give a lighter body and let those hop shine even more. Thanks for the feedback.

Have been getting some Alpine in Boston these days. Holy disappointment. Nelson was ok but Duet and Hoppy Birthday both had a rather unpleasant vegetal after taste. Guessing Greenflash has essentially ruined whatever mojo Alpine once had.

Huh, I had both just over a month ago and didn't notice much of that. The hippy birthday was at the very end if the night though, so I won't make any strong claims except that I enjoyed it and didn't notice anything to funky going on.

Haven't had either before the fall though, so no comment on the ruining

x2 on the Dam IIPA. Fantastic IIPA. You'd never guess it's 8%. I'm a big fan of doubles that don't have to crank the malt to hide the booze.

Speaking of doubles, I've been enjoying the Pure Hoppiness from Alpine Brewing Co lately. Insane nose. Hopefully their latest distribution push to CO isn't a one time thing.

Shredgnar - Nice meeting you last night.

Damn this stuff is good. One can dated 11/23 other can dated 10/27. Amazing how the taste can die off. 11/23 was considerably better. Not sure if that's due to date or time..

Scored some TG Pompeii, Light Speed, and Zeelander today as well as a Duet just for comparison. My inlaws are gonna love me this weekend!

^No surprise a month would make a huge difference. Fresh hop forward stuff is where it is at. 2 week rule

About to step to a Trillium Scaled Up (growler fill today). Typically don't luv their dubs but high hopes nonetheless. Galaxy+Mosaic+Nelson+Columbus. Do love their pales and IPAs in general.

Yeah, that was me (with the wind burn) buying the 5gal. Didn't know you were a mag until I saw the post above.

Tree House is putting out a juicier IPA/IIPA in my opinion and that is my sweet spot so my vote goes to TH, that said I have never had a beer from Trillium that wasn't great.

Well shit, stop in and say hi again sometime, hope you enjoy the keg. Glad you liked that DIPA. I've got some ideas kicking around for another one that will be similar but different.
