Passes are closed due to snow. Snowing in Arnold but not much accumulation. A couple inches on the ground at Big Trees.

On this morning's TV Weather map it looked like Bear Valley was getting hit...
They showed pic of KW (looked a bit thin on the ground) & video of it snowing last night at Donner Pass (nice & steady).

Is the snow coming in wet so it will stick to the firm layer?

What are the chances BV will give me a discount/extension on my season pass that was used one day last season?

    Slim to none.

BV showing a Nov. 28 projected opening date.

DR has no date set yet but we'll be prepping the mountain next week.

China Peak also has no date set.

Young Owen and I are going up to hike DR in a bit. I'll report back.

Bit of a lull right now but the forecast looks good.

Dodge Ridge is closed this week - open Fri-Sun, but that should change if these storms deliver. Pretty damn good opening weekend, but it's still low coverage so things got ugly quick. Hoping to open the back side maybe this weekend if we get enough snow. Everything else is open.

Bear Valley is open weekends too. They actually have way less terrain open than we do. Only Moke West and the Cub learning area so far.

China Peak open top to bottom with limited terrain.

Badger Pass is scheduled to open this weekend.

12-14" at Dodge last night. Chair 8 should be open this weekend.

Bear had 12" at Griz top, so they will likely have more terrain opening Saturday.

    Similar story at China Peak.

Will this keep Dodge open mid-week? Might be heading that way for a few days.
