I surf and there is no fuckin way I would of got anywhere near that wave on my best days. The force of that lip pile driving you into the reef is incredible. The guy didn't have a helmet on

he was fuckin nutz. I hope he was not seriously injured or worse. Jesus Christ, I hope there were not two more waves behind that.

He survived

It was the most violent thing – I got annihilated. I was bounced, pin-balled on the reef, the whole nine yards. Just up and over and up and over. It held me under pretty long. My life-vest got blown off right away, and then the second wave drilled me – I actually hit the bottom even harder. Hit my back, my knees, and then I got about four more waves on the head after that… washed over the reef…

Guy is seriously lucky to have lived through that. That sounds like my worst nightmare, as I would have drown for sure.

He was maching when he wiped out at the bottom of the face, the hang time he gets going over as the wave gets him is surreal. Amazed he is alive after that.
