Based on the RMNP ski guidebook I have, that line is ridiculous. Narrow, steep, long, aesthetic. Huge cornice on top, tight choke.

Taken tonight of the sunset from just down the street... same mountains as in my picture above, just from about 25 miles further back.

Another one from yesterday's sunset. I am a HUDGE fan of the Canon 70-300L, it's such a versatile and sharp piece of glass.

That B 29 flew over us this morning while we were barefooting. Cool ride! They say it is the only one left actively flying right now. Didn't have my long lens along (:

As long as we are still on military planes here is a snapshot of that B29 (FiFi) that I shot early this morning flying over the boat on the lake with the 24-105. Wish I had longer glass with me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFI_(aircraft)

I captured this lightning shot off the deck with the awesome neused 10-22 EFS I purchased from Uglymoney.

10-22 is an amazing wide angle zoom. Hopefully you have the 17-55 as well.

    Edit: Great photo!

Just picked up the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary for an upcoming Africa trip, trying to lighten my gear for travel. Initial shots at the store were very impressive and they just now are starting to stock them. For a $1000 supertelephoto this is a great lens. Tried the tamron version a few months ago and promptly returned it.

Another epic set! This last one is my favourite because of the foreground and the way the clouds are lit.

    Wow, surprisingly sharp!

Do you consider yourself a pro photographer or just an enthusiastic amateur? I'm envious of your Africa trips.

My photography is a passionate hobby, I make money but it is not my main job, yet. My goal has been to put together a nice wildlife portfolio in which going to Africa has become a bad addiction. I enjoy shooting on my own terms and hope I will eventually find a niche.

Heading to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park(Kalahari Desert) in October on a recon trip and to see how inexpensively I can manage. Will be camping mostly and my family and friends are a bit hesitant on this one. I have room for one if anyone wants an adventure!

John, your wildlife photography is right up there with the pros, and better than many of them.

Not a fancy camera or anything, just caught this cloud with my phone on the way home. It's been 110+ all week, and today rained buckets for 30 seconds from 1 black cloud in the sky. And now it's thunderstorms.
