Nope. Use 6ml of Micro and 9ml of bloom throughout veg.


Full schedule:
Based on a 10 week flower. I use Coco in smart pots, with 20-30% chunky perlite. Water to about 10% runoff. This is a very inexpensive and lean feeding schedule. It gives the plants exactly what they need, and it's easy to flush out. It's not organic, if you are into that. I run big rooms, and I can't afford to have some complicated/expensive feeding schedule. I am able to teach this to people that have no experience, and they are off to the races.

From Veg to 2 weeks into flower:
6ml of Micro and 9ml of Bloom per gallon of water, ph'd to 5.8.

Once you hit the 2nd-3rd week of flower:
6ml of Micro and 12ml of Bloom. I add in 2ml of Bloombastic and 1-2ml of Calmag at this point.
This shit is expensive, but it lasts a long time. I like it, and I love the results. Trich production is silly.

The White

Continue the 6ml/12ml for 10 days with the 2ml Bloombastic and 1-2ml Calmag.

5th week of flower, drop the micro and do 9ml bloom w/ 2ml Bloombastic and 1-2ml Calmag.

Drop the Bloombastic and calmag at the end of week 6-7.

Run 9ml of Bloom per gal until the 9th week. Flush with water for the final 10-14 days of flower. Turn lights off, and leave for 24 hours before chop.

I still run 1k wt HPS and MH mixed. Partly because I have the capital investment in the equipment, and I don't want to change.

I also don't think LED produces the weight. For home grows, they are perfect and pricing seems to be getting better. Eventually it will be all LED though.

Question - do you have a method to calculate how much water needed for 10% runoff? Or is this a trial/error thing? Since replanting with coco I'm getting way more runoff than with potting soil.

I've been on bds method for a while. I usually use a lot more micro than bloom but I'll change that up to see what happens. My last crop I under watered rather than the 10% over water and it worked amazing. But I had smaller plants in a more humid environment. I think the plants should get watered every 1-2 days

Since we are giving away our secrets I thought I would put my 2 cents in, I am no Bobby Stainless but no slouch either

I use 1000w HPS in a soil medium (Fox Farm) with all organic nutes (Nectar of The Gods) and a sealed system with 1500ppm Co2 enrichment during weeks 2-6 of flower. The temps are 68-72 degrees during veg and weeks 1 & 2 of flower, then 80-82 degrees during Co2 (weeks 2-6 of flower) and as cold as possible during the last 2 weeks of flower (65 degrees). I add perlite to the soil for better drainage and keep the PH of the water 5.8-6.2 during veg and 6.6-6.8 during flower. The water is fucking heinous here so I RO the water and add everything myself. I water/feed every 3 to 4 days and flush at 6 weeks into flower...Not rocket science but not exactly growing weeds either

Newb question (and sorry if this has been covered) - In order to determine when to harvest, I understand you need to watch for the pistils to darken and the trichomes to just start to colour.

On a single plant do these changes take place uniformly or am I correct in assuming is starts at the top and works it's way down?

If it does start at the top does one then need to take an 'average' reading of the plant? Ei tops are showing maturity, bottoms aren't - what to do?

PCP is a true hallucinogen. It is scary. Ive taken acid 100's of times and it's no big deal compared to PCP. Once was more than enough PCP.

I don't use weed that often but a friend of mine had some outdoor organically grown bud and it was the best weed I've seen in a long time. Indoor weed never really did it for me.

I am looking to leverage my rights as an oregon citizen come this summer. I will have a few plants outside on my patio. It gets a bunch of sun, and can get fairly warm. I have a friend who says he can get starts easily. Ideas on a good strain to target for outdoors in PDX? Ideas on where to head to read up on maximizing this very small patio project? (It has been decades for me, and Mr. Rosenthals book was my only resource...)

My grow is super small in comparison to most other grows, I have four 1000watt HPS bulbs and a 120 square foot room with 12ft ceilings to make it happen. I have experimented with 30 plants, 20 plants and now finally 16 plants in the same space and I can get the same amount of bud out of 16 plants in 10 gal pots that I can get out of 30 plants in 5 gal pots. Space is a major issue in SoCal so we work with what we have for now.

As far as being "tech as fuck", everything we do was pretty much dictated by yield amounts and doing what we had to do to get the most out of the room

Lets break it down step by step and hopefully Bobby can tell me where I am wasting my time...

Water: The water is ridiculously hard and according to the water report somewhat toxic. Besides the fluoride and huge levels Cal/Mag there is also small amounts of lead, copper, aluminum, arsenic, chromium, chlorine, sodium and reads 585ppm out of the tap. On top of those chemicals there are 2 more chemicals added to our local water to keep the pipes from corroding away completely, and when researching what the chemicals were I just got the run around as no one knew wtf they were. So hence the RO water...

Co2: We found using Co2 at 1500ppm during weeks 2-6 of flower yielded the best results. We also found using Co2 in the first two weeks of flower tended to make the buds stretch and not be as dense or solid looking. Using Co2 the last two weeks of flower is a definite fucking NO NO! We have found (the hard way) that running Co2 during the last 2 weeks of flower suppresses the ethylene production of the plant and the flowers will not ripen properly and smell like hay.
I keep the temperature in the room during C02 around 80 degrees because I read the plants can absorb more of the Co2 at warmer temps. Then making it much colder during the last two weeks of flower (65 degrees) made the buds frost up real nicely and kept the terpenes from evaporating. In the end making the bud sticky icky, for lack of a better term.

Soil & Nutes: We use Fox Farm soil in 10 gallon cloth pots because it works well and we get a petty good deal on a pallet, but switched from Fox Farm nutes to Nectar for The Gods because we wanted all organic nutes. I use a lot more of the organic nutes than I did with the Fox Farm but I have noticed less build up on the roots and way better results with the plants. I prefer to use a root solution like Orca in conjunction with B1 to keep everything healthy under the dirt so the plants can suck up the nutrients until the very end. I have seen what hard water and non organic nutes do to my roots and I prefer everything organic, even the PH up & down. The only non-organic thing I use is the Terpinator, which is an experiment for right now. The guy at the hydro shop was claiming it so we have been trying it and it seems to be working nicely.

Last but certainly not least...Keep your room as clean as possible and keep looky loos out of your grow space. Everyone I have ever showed my room to has man handled the buds/plants as soon as they see them, so no one but us goes in the room. We sanitize the room top to bottom before, during & after each grow. Especially all pots & trays, I see people all the time just reuse the pot and tray without washing/sanitizing them.

This is just the way I do things, I am not advocating these procedures for anyone or saying that there aren't many other extremely successful methods. With that said, I would appreciate any feedback or alternative methods for sure

trichome cloudiness is the determining factor. the bottom third of my plants flower goes in the schwag pile so i concern myself with the top third. get a hand lens and watch for the milky knobs:-)
