Really hard to say BD. I'd normally think sunny days above freezing would be candidates, but the only one I see is tomorrow. Hoping some mag has the flexibility to jump if/when it happens.

I was lucky enough to be at Jay Peak today for a surprise powder day. As the cool kids say, it did not suck. Knee deep in some places. And, of course, with the wind, there was no snow in some other places. Then the sun came out. Still able to find a few untracked rabbit holes in the afternoon. Multiglisse is pooped.

Thanks, would be too good to be true... the one time I am in the hood, but probably too much to ask. Fun to dream, tho.

    pics didn't go through...

ScottSki led me and ISBD and more on a tour Saturday. We found unbreakable crust, breakable crust, scary fast hardpack, and pockets of pow... even corn in the afternoon

This was a FKNA cool section, but you can see those tracks on the right, if the snow decided to grab an ankle and take you down it was over Walking Dead style and you never saw it coming.

    We had fun though.

Lazy J locals. At Stowe that was gutted like a brookie by 8:45. Everyone who thinks Jay lies, you're right, never go there...

Not that I know of. I have eyed it for years and actually live right down the road. I have explored it in summer. North of that area there is some real extreme terrain that I have explored on skis...mostly carrying skis I should say. Close to the ice bulge...Click image for larger version.

Well, if you've had a hankering, I'd say get after it now. Pm me and I can give you the landowner's contact. The one just north of the campground, with the solar array.

Not sure that I would call it five years of planning, per se, maybe more like five years of waiting, watching, hoping, prevaricating, cursing, waiting, watching... You get the idea. The planning itself took about 20 minutes :-). Though it was helpful that, by that time, the topo was essentially emblazoned in my neural net.

Unreal pics as usual from the dark side. Weasel clan invades on Friday.

^^^^ Glad I spent an afternoon moving that huge down tree out of there in December or no one would have been skiing it this year.

    I got to go skiing

Babies arriving in January is kind of a mixed bag. Super bummed about missing what is turning out to be a magnificent greatest coast season. But super stoked about this little guy

Buddy took pity on me and showed me some White Mountain goods saturday. Bluebird day and no crust made for some great backseat bobby turns.

Okay, sort of off-topic. Anyone have a rotating spit suitable for roasting a lamb that could be borrowed?
