Can someone explain the science behind why a huge storm like this barrels into Tahoe but splits around most of CO? Does it also split around SLC area?

Right, but what is it about the current location that will make this storm split? And yes, I will be rooting for OSU..

Not enough sacrifices in the Plea to ULLR thread??
At least there is snow in the forecast again. If the storm does split, the upslope will likely not be strong.

Not the mountains, just this thread.

Good news bad news out there

Skiing is pretty good out there in spots if you hunt down the deeper drifts. And stable enough to get some touring in for the time being.

Bad news is the Sabanblock is keeping us from more snow.

Looking for some recent beta on James Peak Wilderness (front range) ... if anyone has been up high, i would love to get some info on how east facing slopes are holding up. Thanks!

There's some really great skiing to be done right now under some uncharacteristically safe conditions.

Got a few in on this yesterday too. Spring like conditions.

Washed my car today; closest thing I know to a snow-dance. I'll take my snows off next week if anyone thinks it will help...

I thoroughly washed and waxed my car about a week ago but I think the fertilizer I put down a few days prior to that is still blocking us. My bad.

Got out on Tue morning in the park. Some mixed climbing, a down climb, a rappel, and some really good snow, even had a good section of powder. Was fun making steep jump turns above exposure again - pushed into 55-60 degrees, in spots. Exciting!

Since this thread needs more stoke...

Been waiting to ski this in early winter for a few seasons now. Finally got out there on Saturday. Super fun chute with 3 small airs on the way down. So good we did a couple laps.

Any votes for the Saturday night storm? NOAA is calling for as much as 8-16" for Wolf Creek, 6-14" for Silverton, Monarch, Elks... meanwhile Gratz is captaining the USS Butthurt Express with an un-optimistic 3-6" everywhere.
