there was at least 200 people up there today.
every lift was a double or triple, no singles and a 35 second wait.
place was going off, the stoke was high.

right on...tuesday was great as well. short waits, lots of room to let 'em run. fast and springlike surface. good vibe.
skiied in afternoon with goniff.
went 15 mins short of bell to bell, legs feeling very well-cooked.

good morning.

looks like north/western maine could do fairly well friday. would help if the ground were frozen and if it wasn't going to get warm enough to maybe hit the reset button again next week. november, so it goes.....

MTW looks to pickup 5-6 too. Whoaa, when did the new website startup? Mountain forecasts that go 72 hours in advance too!

Am I dumb or did TGR really change the website so that you have to upload the picture to their site, then select it to post? And files are limited to 100KB, WTF?

you can still just write

has Jay started blowing anything yet? guessing not. I have a pair of skis to pick up in Richford. Gonna be a lot easier to bring them back over the border if I can claim i was (trying to) ski

Yes, I'm posting pictures and video from an Okemo groomer, but hey, not much else going on right now, and at 850' it's probably the most skiable vertical in the NE (although I hope that changes on the drive up to ESAW tomorrow):
[Edit: Didn't realize that Stowe had blown snow top-to-bottom already, so Okemo for 2nd place.]

[If the ratio on this video looks absurd, hit pause and then play again -- but if I appear to be downhill skiing with 135cm nordic ski racing poles that are almost as long as my 162cm rando race skis, then no amount of pause/play clicking will fix that.]

Speaking of ESAW ... in addition to the ~60 prizes to be raffled off during breaks in the day's presentations and then after that at the IME social event, we will have the following silent auction items:

LA SPORTIVA Ski Boots: Spectre, Sparkle, Sideral, or Starlet
PETZL NAO Headlamp (575 lumens!)
ORTOVOX 3+ Avalanche Beacon
STERLING Fusion Nano Alpine Touring 9.2mm Dry 40m
STERLING Evolution Duetto Alpine Touring 8.4mm Dry 30m
DYNAFIT jacket (details in transit, along with so much other stuff that the trucks from USPS, UPS, and FedEx might crash into each other in front of my house today)

Most opening bids are at only ~40% of retail, and most winning bids in the past have stayed barely above that.

Nice stoke jonathan!

not to try to take any stoke from your outing, but a friend reported 2100 continuous vert of nice soft snow at stowe on tuesday. Skin right from the car. Just an fyi.

Yep, I just received an email to that effect -- I knew that Stowe had started snowmaking, but didn't realized they'd been so successful.
Maybe a road trip there next week.
(Would swing me too far out on my drive to ESAW tomorrow...)

Might be worth your while next week if elevation gets 10 wet inches thru tomorrow. Wonder if we received the stowe beta from the same person. D?

Correct on all counts.
Also gotta love the irony: Stowe has 2k+, Okemo 850', but the only resort running lifts is K with a mere, hmm, according to an old trail map, 587'!

that's the thing about K. one day nothing, three days later it's wall to wall and every chair is full. no time or money wasted.
okemo's made all that snow but not opening for 9 more days - they must really like you jonathan!

now stowe plus more snow sounds interesting.
