Low pressure along the Mid Atlantic coast will move northeast towards the New England waters today, with rapid intensification overnight in the Gulf of Maine. Snow showers will begin to overspread the higher summits this morning as moisture increases off the ocean, with a steady light snow developing by the afternoon as the low pressure approaches. Winds will become gusty from the northeast this evening as the storm begins to intensify, with temperatures falling through the teens and snow continuing for much of the night. Precipitation will become more showery in nature Sunday, with winds ramping up to hurricane force with gusts possibly exceeding 100 mph late in the day as the powerful Noreaster slowly pulls away into the Canadian Maritimes. Storm total snowfall through end of the day Sunday will range 6-12 inches.

JayPeakPowderhound killed that a few years ago at an MSP movie showing in Cambridge. He took first and won some skis, but it was no contest... even had the real bottle of booze in hand.
