WTI at $85 and change per barrel. Gasoline getting spanked again down .45c in two weeks. CVX starting to look interesting
Exacchary.
Automakers don't want to sell electric cars - not nearly as profitable or built at a loss, but they need to be seen to be doing something "green" so they make them look like shit so only hippies who don't care what it looks like will buy them. The Prius was a loss-leader for Toyota for awhile but now that the technology is matured and the R&D is amortized they can make money on them. Since they still have a gas engine there's still money to be made selling oil changes and filters.
Note that good looking hybrids & electrics are $pendy. the automakers learned from GM's experiment with "affordable" electric cars back in the '90s.
Bullshit. I know you're used to NY where they tax the fuck out of everything, but gasoline taxes sure as shit aren't paying for the upkeep of the roads around here. Joe taxpayer is subsidizing your gasoline habit.
You need to get your head out of the sandhole you stuck it in 1959.
Living vicariously through myself.
China!
At least the Euro is tanking. My next trip to Italy is going to be a lot more affordable.
Margin liquidation in crude oil. Down another $1 after the close $84.06.
^ you like to be wrong on everything you post?

Either way you guys want to argue about the costs of gas, it still makes a compelling case to be able to "refuel" in my garage for a fraction the cost. ESPECIALLY for what gas prices are up in the mountains.
id drive that Lexus 200hwhatever tho. aren't you old farts rich enough to foot the bill on one of those?
It's far cheaper. However, it all depends on what your price per KWH is, if the prices vary with peak usage and all that, what kind of charger you use, and a couple other things...
Check it: http://www.teslamotors.com/charging#/calculator
No matter what your methods though, it's much, much cheaper than gas.
Fuck the plug in electric cars. I am waiting for the new Hydrogen fuel cell cars. Honda has one on the road and Toyota rolls one out in 2015.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Dude. Balance sheets have two sides. Yeah "we'll" pay for it. We'll also get a lot out of it. Think of it as an investment. Would GM et. al. have been so successful without the federally subsidized highway system? Would you be able to call up osm e rustic backwater without the subsidized phone system? sheesh.
A friend of mine, an electrical contractor bought a Tesla and frikken' loved it. he knew the limitations, he accommodated.
Nice. Business must be good. But he drives the pickup to the mountains, right? I mean the Tesla is fun, but, it doesn't really get things covered, right? At 90 grand?
Governments can easily misdirect capital. Happens all the time. Horrible distortions when we built our railroads. And horribly corrupt, too. I really fail to see how our feeble taxpayer investment in electric cars will do most any good as it stands now. China is way ahead of us with a centrally planned investment climate, and they really aren't getting there, either. It's the batteries. Gotta make better batteries. All else won't work right now, and, if we were really serious, we'd go whole hog on charging stations and renovated electric grids. Ain't happening. Too expensive. We can't even fix what we have, like the roads and bridges. Sorry, we're in decline, especially if DC stays deadlocked.
