I highly recommend that any mags in Boston check out the Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville. Tasty, tasty beverages. Stopped in yesterday after pulling on some plastic (it's right next door to Brooklyn Boulders) and immediately wondered why I hadn't been there sooner.

Spent a lovely day in the woods, loitering between 3200' and 3300' Nice color showing on the way up. Lots of bird activity, Buntings, Warblers and some chubby little chipper with grey back and pale sand colored body...lots of those. The last being very curious and staying fairly close...giving me a bird free bubble of about 25 feet.

Well, we do call it birdwatcing and some of those little guys are fun to watch.

Eastern Phoebe. They are very tame and I've seen them in flocks up high gorging themselves on berries (often with waxwings) before bolting south in late fall.

Thought maybe it could have been a Boreal Chickadee but if you saw a bunch of them together probably not. I look for them every time I'm anywhere at altitude and have only seen a handful, shy little guys.

I went to a Cornell bird identification website and heard the song... Confirmed, you picked the right customer.

Who would guess that "birdwatching" was so strenuous...sore arms and shoulders today, lotta hiking milage too but legs are good. In other news, the ferns are pushing up the hill nicely

The squirrels are bat shit crazy this year, especially the reds--Lots of acorns out there.

I had one of those guys eating out of my hand by Guyot a couple of years ago. He wouldnt land but took the food and would land a few feet away.

Personally i think the thread should start on either the first day of skiing or on Ullfest.

There was a time in life where that was my first choice of career path but I soon released the pay scale wasn't quite going to get it done so I went the capitalist route instead 😱.

    Fixed it for you

Wtf...I walked away at the end thinking they were going to pull it off. I truly felt bad for you...kind of.

The foliage has been out-fucking-standing this year here in the NEK. Driving around with polarized sunglasses on yesterday almost resulted in me driving off the road on several occasions as I rubbernecked at the leaves .
Blue sky with light whispy clouds added nicely to the scene.

I made sure I moved along the shoreline far enough to get some pictures without the turbines in view .

My old lady did the VT50 in a 3-member relay team. I took a trip to the NEK with some dudes. I agree that the foliage up there is pretty stellar. We rode Town Loops on the way up Saturday and KT on Sunday. Did some camping, swimming, and drank some beer. An overall really sweet weekend.

My photos don't include wind towers.

Anyone who also has an epic ski profile willing to put up a pair of dps cassiars (front side ski) that I have for sale here in gear swap up for sale over there? Not the right crowd here and was thinking they might sell better there. Commission paid in beer. Post here or pm. Thanks.

We did. Met the rest of the crew at Parker Pie for beer and pizza, then headed to Wheeler Mtn. region and found a nice flat spot on a recently built logging road in the state forest to bed down. Walked 100 ft., started a fire, made sure things were safe, drank a couple beers then went to sleep. Many possibilities in that area.
