look at the Angry White Upper Middle Class drone, using his passive-aggressive chops to accuse others of having his own anger issues

did you know that angry demonstrations of I'm-living-through-my-son is the best Lesson-by-Example you can set for your male children?

Why do you even care to post in this thread? Do you have children who play sports? Have you coached youth sports?

Seems like you are just a cunty jackass who likes to flame people even though you don't really have any experience to share.

Seems like you prefer to fabricate a psych profile and personality for people you don't know.

I've coached plenty of youth sports, and I played a shit-ton of youth sports in my own youth.

Aside from that, maybe you should dial back the arrogance and hubris, and stop thinking you know what turns my gears, schmendrick.

Well how about you offer up your wisdom rather than cuntdom?

For some reason, adults (me included) consider it poor form to discuss their kids grades, but not their athletic achievements. I'm not convinced that this represents a disregard for academics in every case.

I should be the first to offer wisdom in this 12 page thread of cuntdom?

keep reading my mind, Dr Hubris. you are a genius of online psychiatry practiced through reading forum commentary. you can read one post by one person and instantly know his "issues" (as you like to call them).

I read this 11-page (when I first posted) thread and found nothing other than assholes bragging on how badass their kids are because they have "tryouts" for 5th grade lax in Denver. if that doesn't make you laugh, you don't know Denver and you sure don't know lax.

WISDOM: playing for fun is better than playing for a future info idiom on your CV, living through your kid is BAD, thinking pressure is good for a 10 year old kid is BAD, and talking about "delivering a product" when you refer to coaches helping kids learn a game, that's just fucking hilarious pretentiousness of a kind that only an insecure product of the lower-classes can imagine while climbing the status ladder toward upper-middle (which he'll never reach, despite his delusions to the contrary)

I'm not laughing and I played at Army from '91-'94 ... after growing up in Denver. I'm no Jack Emmer, but I have a fair understanding of the game.

You've contributed only insults and vitriol, so I have the same question as Kinnikinnick: Why do you even care to post in this thread?

You started out OK there, but then degenerated into some sort of weird class diatribe with the "pretentiousness" "climbing the status ladder" etc.

Any first hand stuff to share? Did your parents push too hard - is that where your perspective comes from? Or do you have something else to share?

So, The Padded Room is where serious people gather to talk seriously? Gosh!

You played at Army? Wow. That's like being a skier at Trash Mtn. Thanks for telling us you have that military seriousness in your approach to a forum called The Padded Room obviously that title is so assholes like you can tell knuckledragging know-nothings such as myself that we need to get back on our meds.

So, you're living through your kid because playing lax at West Point wasn't impressive enough for you. What else can you share?

No put down there. Those are question marks, hence they're questions.

Do you have first hand experiences to share rather than the attacks and class diatribes?

Ah, I see you are a fan of the Kevin Bazar/Wendell Stam school of passive-aggression, and a fan of the David Rontal school of outright lying about someone who made you feel stupid.

Maybe my posts make you feel stupid because, y'know, that's what you are: an idiot playing at smart guy, on the internet.

I want to see your white lab coat and framed M.D. from Hopkins before I will treat your interrogatories as the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

    When did I lie?

    Whats with the science thing?

Maybe I should just leave you alone, but I have this burning suspicion that there is a great youth sports story that is simmering below the surface that if only we could coax from you. Perhaps we would benefit from your 1st hand insight. Maybe we'd end up feeling sympathetic to you rather than the current trend. But I understand if you can't, some things are painful to share.

Michael Scott is a character written by Greg Daniels on a theme created by Ricky Gervais. Unless you're Daniels or Gervais, pretending to extend the Michael Scott character into a Maggot who is seriously in over his head and ignorant of that underwater status, that's just unoriginal and not funny.

but kudos for the effort, it may help your 8 year old son get into that "tryouts mandatory" tiddly winks league at the country club you and The Missus belong to out there in Nebraska

Science, underwater, Michael Scott. Obscure references galore. All for what? To snarkily establish yourself as above me and/or everyone else? Its weird and in the end comes across more as annoyingly pathetic than intellectually superior or whatever your trying for, but hey its your life.

Nothing actually related to youth sports to share? Please.

Seems I've shared plenty about youth sports, but your illiteracy born from confirmation bias has prohibited your ...uh... understanding. I do have pity for the feeble-minded among us humans, they need love and support like any other, but when they act arrogant and superior in a discussion while accusing others of harboring that arrogance and snide smug superiority, I tend to lose my pity in favor of comic derision. Congratulations on earning that accomplishment, it's quite a feat.

I'll try to take this thread more seriously, I really don't quite understand how you'd need to "bond" over smug assertions of indirect greatness through your child's supposed stardom. I'm sure your kid will go on to historical registry at ______________ (Hopkins, Syracuse, or your choice of historic lax powerhouse university) for his waterboy duties, and maybe he'll even get into the team picture. If that happens, his failure to be a starter at whatever position you fantasized as his role -- well that's because creaky fossil isn't treating your comments with the seriousness they deserve. It's well known that all future lax stars will arise from this present discussion. Unassailable.

So to paraphrase: 'You people come across as smug and that makes me feel so smug'

Has it ever occurred to you that your feelings of derision are aimed squarely at people just like yourself?

Uh, my kids don't play Lax, don't have much chance of playing college sports, and their talents lie much more in academics. But other than being completely off the mark that's great commentary.

Come on - lets hear your personal story, not just your condemnatory conclusions.

I'm not feeling any derision, but thanks for telling me what's cooking in your hubris-generating grey tissue lump.

I think you've misunderstood my comments as Serious Predictions about Kick-my-knickers' Meatspace Reality. I laugh at your ineptitude, though, so please keep fucking up like that!

You don't really think that all that drivel has any real effect other than on yourself, do you?

Oh well, I guess you can't keep a good Cunty Fossil down.

    Good luck with that.

I enjoy how you insist your fantasies are my reality and moreso, how you do it with a pretense at human psychology expertise.

Michael Scott is a boring character to inhabit, as I said above, but you keep Beavis/Buttheading that shit, Knicker-Kicker.
