Sweet. I went out alone and watched it grow and grow. A friend showed up and it was just two of us out. So nice compared to the last two hypacanes where everyone this side of out west showed up cuz it was gonna be "epic. Fuck that shit, bring on the cold burly winter noreasters. I actually got shut down once getting out yesterday and had to get out and try a different angle which worked, but not before i went thru a good 15 minute paddle battle to get out. Out of all of the super phyisically demanding shit i do, nothing compares to non stop paddle battles. The 2 hour mtb ride yesterday am before surfing didn't help much

    Where did your son surf?

    Holy shit, is that real?

A few years ago I had worked with Patrick on a ski related project, definitely an interesting young skier full of ideas and goals...

A bear attack fatality is far more excusable than the way many deaths occur these days. Nature. Vibes.

Best advice you can give your bonehead buddy is to take a mountaineering course. The many elementary mistakes he made and the fact, at least from that article, that he hasn't learned much since is just scary. Best advice for you - choose better partners if you bc ski. You'll live longer. Epic fail.

That bear death is awful. RIP to that young man. The knee-jerk reaction in NJ will be awful as well.

NOT a buddy, just had some dealings with him in the past. He has a lot to learn, and yes, sounds like a course would have been an excellent idea.

    ^^^ I feel better!
The last paragraph says it all: "I got some heat for going alone. If I had gone with a partner or two it would have been two or three of us down there instead of one. In the end, I'll be back to King Ravine next year..."
    Complete and utter moron.
The only thing he did right was drag his sorry ass 7 miles out and not cost tax payers anything for his stupidity. Hoping I won't be around the next time ding-dong goes bc skiing.

Yesterday evening the clouds were breaking up and allowing the sun through to play with the colors on the hillsides.

Anyone want to swap pow skis? I have a pair of 185 black diamond justices that id like to trade for a praxis MVP, worth magic, or fat bro. 1 prior mount for large dukes, pretty clean.
