Too funny...I just had my electrician replace all my smokes and heat detectors. They'd go off randomly and whenever I turned on the garage lights. Turns out the photo sensor was being tripped, but I had a mix of vintages (same brand), but that was causing trouble. Put up with this crap for over a year.

Now they are all same brand, same vintage and speak English...working great, but still waiting for the bill, tho.

A couple yrs ago MA started enforcing a code that the manufacturers hadn't even come up with a product to meet it. There have been so many issues with smokes over the past several years because of what they are required to do which apparently is very difficult to achieve. Humidity was the latest culprit setting thousands off randomly.

Ha, ha...thx, but I was at my wits end... And they all went off the other week as I was boarding a plane and so I just made the call. Having survived a fire in my past life, I don't like to take any chances, especially with the family and all.

We had some kind of issue where all the fire alarms that were hardwired into the 120VAC power would randomly go off simultaneously. Replaced every one of them and they still did it. Ended up shitcanning them and now have the battery operated ones. I just change the batteries every couple of months, rather than do the beep hunt.

That BS happened to me last year. One was giving me the low battery beep and when I changed it the whole system went ape shit.

Took me a whole day of unplugging and reconnecting to get it to stop.

When I had a beater rig, I would park just inches from their side giving me plenty of room to get out but totally screwing them when trying to get in that side. I always wanted to sit around and watch the reaction, never did though.
