Speaking of drugs and golf. If someone was a 12 playing stoned, do you think they would do better playing straight? A buddy of mine shot a course record 62 during an alcohol/sex themed charity tournament and passed out on the 18th after holing the putt.

I bet I would save 5 - 10 strokes a game if I smoked weed or took a xanax while playing . My temperament is my biggest battle on the course. I don't do drugs though and am not going to start just to get better at golf.

I've played a couple of great rounds on narcotics... Shot a 73 at VCP in the bronx high on percocet and valium. But there comes a point when the irritation of not playing well is magnified by the irritation of wasting perfectly good drugs only to get pissed off about playing shit golf.

Went out for another 9 holes tonight... Played some of the best golf of my adult life. Hard to remember all the great shots. Missed several tee shots and a couple of long irons, only sank one putt longer than 5', and still shot 40.

Hit the best sandwedge of my life. Long par 5 with a elevated green protected by a bunker and a tree on the right. Pushed a flat 3 iron too close to the tree at the bottom of the hill, but got a good lie. No way to punch under the tree and still go over the trap and stop it on the green. Dug in with the sw flat and open and got it over the tree and stopped it pin high, eight feet from the hole. 2 putted for par.

Topped an 8 iron off the tee on a 175yd par three. Had 135 left. Hit a 9 iron out of the rough to within 5 feet. Made the putt for par.

Played 9 like a pro. 290yd tee shot left a wedge into the green. Rolled over it a little and ended up on the back left corner of the green, but sank a 45' putt for birdie. Why not?

Pushed a 5 iron right of the green on my 3rd shot after flubbing my 2nd shot on a longish par 5. Played a LW to within 5 feet. Made the par putt.

Was deadly with the mid-short irons today. Nearly chipped in twice. Hit a 9 off the tee to about 8 feet.

Didn't hit my driver all that well... Not sure why. Didn't fade it, but I topped a couple and just didn't get that pop... Nothing over 300 yards. Also didn't putt that well, except for that 45 footer. But all that taken into consideration, 40 was a pretty strong score. Man did that feel good.

Tournament on Thursday. I'll probably shoot 105. Lol... What a game.

Played 18 with a buddy yesterday. He hit my 3H off a tee and the head flew 50 yds into the trees.

Shaft was fine.. Epoxy just broke loose. Glad it wasn't me... I probably would have killed someone with my luck.

I missed 4 very makeable birdie putts... Drove a par 4 and missed 15 ft eagle putt . I shot an 83... I suck

In all honesty, the fucking heat got to me. 90 and humid. I tore up the front (except putting) and was exhausted after about 11.

Played Sonoma Golf Club with a friend (who's a member) on Father's Day. Shot a 75 with a double bogie and two three putts. I knew my swing was back in shape when I played a power fade off the tee over some trees and tall grass and hit it perfectly (I normally draw the ball). I love this course, wish I could afford a membership.

Bushboy and I are playing the Wilderness at Fortune Bay on Sunday, one of the nicest courses I've ever played. So stoked.

Haven't struck a white sphere in anger in a year or so but that doesn't mean I am not spending time on the course.

Hole 6, when it is complete it will be freaking spectacular.Click image for larger version.

Played Fossil Trace on Saturday for the first time while visiting my folks for Father's Day- you front rangers are lucky to have such a nicely maintained muni.

After a two week break, I shot the best round of the year so far going 42-38. Got some hail/rain on 9 and other than that it was a gorgeous day .

That has "Signature Hole" written all over it. Looks like a slight draw long iron off the tee rolling to 230 - 240. Avoid the bunkers short right and long left on your approach. Allow 1-2 clubs for the 10 yard drop to a smallish, fairly level green so aim for the center. 2 putts. Par. Nice.

Just back from the tournament. Man, was that fun. Tough course. Long... Several 450+yd par 4s. Played pretty well.. Not great, but okay.

Hit a handful of really good shots. 3 birdie putts, including one from 35' and a couple of par putts, including the last shot on 18. But also putted terribly on a couple of holes.

Crushed a couple of one irons, and played one especially good 1 iron fade around a tree and out to the fairway on a long par 5. Tee shots were okay. Really got into one in particular, but it must have hit a sprinkler head or something and kicked straight left into a trap. One really good chip to within 6". Other than that, didn't get it very close.

Collectively, we shot 3 over - 73, which was good enough for 7th place. Low round was 63. That was the group behind us... 4 really good players and they were smoking the ball the whole time.

Great time and a beautiful course and nice club. Reminded me a lot of the club we used to belong to back home. Turns out it's cheap to live at the country club in CO. Plenty of houses for sale for ~$500k. Membership is $15k to start and $6k/year. A hell of a lot cheaper than Essex County CC used to run us.

    .
Was that a scramble event or best ball stroke play fore-some? If it is scramble the amount of good shots don't jive with 73. Skiballs, spook, plus two monkees with a five iron could shoot 73 on a scramble.

Dude carries a 1-iron, clearly he carried the team. I checked with the monkeys. They wont play with spoke.

That's a god awful score for a 4 player scramble, odds are it was 4 man best ball.

Played Monarch Bay in San Leandro today (the old Tony Lema). The course is in beautiful condition. The best I've ever seen it. 14 pars for 76. I cut my driver 1/2 inch and added 5 gr. weight. Boom! Finally, I have a driver I like where I can plan a nice lazy fade.

Glacier Club in Durango last week. soaking in the hot springs in Pagossa, riding/running horses at 12,000 feet was also rad.

Red Rocks Country club and Highlands Ranch, week before. I don't think I really played golf at Red Rocks…could not hit the ball off the tee, and did not make the adjustment…maybe my ankle was worse that I assume…. But my partners played awesome, fun to watch and what views. Long practice session afterwards, something is working now.

Fathers Day playing was great. I can play golf again.

Collindale in Fort Collins this past Tuesday (one of the US Open qualifier courses here in CO) Got to play with a young upcoming LPGA player…amazingly great golf swing and a beautiful woman.

Country Club at Castle Pines, was today, Nicklaus design is super fun…best short game practice area, ever.

Indian Peaks tomorrow and somewhere even more cool on Sunday.
    Terje was right.

You had a beautiful day. Temporary greens or is that just a rumor? How did they putt?

In other news, I GOT MY SWING BACK!!! Hit the approach stiff to < 10' twice and the short game was mediocre+ for a 38. Not under a tree even once.

Just got back from my annual Chelan solstice golf trip. Chelan Muni Wednesday ,Desert Canyon twice Thursday, Bear Mountain Ranch twice Friday. Saturday Desert Canyon followed by a chase the fox put put with 9 guys. Played teams for skins with running handicaps only valid for that trip. Some of the guys are Microsoft geeks that love tracking everything. All of those courses are highly reccomended. Drove the ball perfectly at Chelan. Had a complete meltdown at DC the next day and was thinking of leaving the driver in the bag the rest of the trip. Got tense and started rushing my tempo . After a nights sleep my swing magicly cured itself and my scores dropped . Golf is wierd like that. The long par 5 #7 at DC I hit the same tree right square in the middle of the trunk 100 yards off the tee box all three rounds. The last round I even aimed 10 degrees right and still tagged it. On #10 par 5 at DC I got on the green in 2 and had an eagle put . I then managed to 4 putt and turn it into a bogie. That was depressing. I got my first birdie on the 600 yard signature hole later and that felt great. I got the new Adams Pro hybrids and they are my favorite clubs in the bag . So forgiving. I used to loath shots 175-210 yards to the green. Now I am confident with that length of shot. Somehow the with the hybrids they land softer then my 3-4 irons.

Been playing every weekend I don't go camping. The Ridge and Stonebridge in West Valley have the best deal on golf in the valley. You can buy a pass for $200 that let's you play 18 after 1:00 for $7.00, $14.00 with a cart. Both of them are nice well kept courses, Stonebridge has 27 holes and is a bit tougher with a little more water.

Played the Ridge today and shot a 93, no mulligans, kicked balls, fluffs, etc. I gave up on my driver about 4 years ago, I hit a three iron off the tee and generally keep it safe in play, I played the entire 18 today with the same ball.
