i'm solo for 3 weeks so this week was supposed to be the beginning of several of those excursions and for some unknown reason my back has seized up again and i've spent the past 4 days crawling from the bed to the bath to the toilet to the sofa. i have no idea what the fuck is going on but nothing i have is doing a damn thing to help it. and this was after finding out i DON'T have to have surgery on my shoulder. crazy psycho somatic shit.

Sorry to hear Spook. Hot tub? Worked once for me but it was sore no seized.

Played tonight in the mens club at the TinCupesque 9 holer. My group had me, a giant Samoan (20 HC) who couldn't chip and a red neck (24 HC) with a crazy stance and weird grip who could hit it straight a mile and chip and putt. Beat the pro night. 3rd hole I pulled a drive to where we could see it but when we got there it was MIA after 5 min. Decided that rather than march back to the tee and hold up play I'd go back later and replay from the tee later, hitting 3. Pro came by and said I'd DQ'd when I hit at the next hole. So be it. Told him I'd rather get DQ'd than be a dick by holding everyone up. Redneck shot a 44 net 32. Yep. Love this game!!

Agree. Only time, in rec play, that I ever see people hitting 3 from the tee is when they hit a provisional. Never by going back to the tee. In my perfect world lost tee balls could be dropped into the next cut [rough, not fairway, not in the tall grass where it was lost] with a 2-shot penalty. 4th shot. Sure, local rule, not for tourney play, but a fair penalty along with keeping play moving...

And, with equitable scoring it is a more than fair penalty. I like GHIN based golf for that reason alone.

Practiced chipping at home before the round and forgot to bring my 120 yd. PW. After the DQ I played a 120 yd par 3 with the pro. He hit a whatever to 15 feet. I hit a little cut on a choked 9 iron to 10' and sunk the bird. Great game!!

i've goofed around with short chips and pitches since i hurt my shoulder and that motion at least doesn't bother it so we'll see what happens when i hit into the net or go to the range. i will have to continue working on my gentle swing

Nope, it is called getting old and it sucks. I doubt I have to tell you, just a fucking shitty reminder.

well, it is getting older and i've abused my body more than my years, but i also have a lot of mind-body shit (particularly brutal muscle spasms) that has been going on for decades. it's making me older way before i'm due.

Use a vaporizer and get some weed in your body to help…..number one cure for those problems.

Great fun at the Links at Teton Peaks. Another mid-90's round, for 4 out of the first 5 rounds of the year, no topped balls, starting to really get the 'staying down through the shot' thing. Two groups let us play through, before we even waited for them for a second!!!! Finished in just under 3 hours, with cart, not rushing. Bud shot 79, but only 3 birdies so the flask thankfully wasn't in play all that much...

picked up a set of TM rac os irons today off CL. super stoked to get out with something that fits in regards to size/flex.

haven't golfed consistently since freshman year of college, here's hoping it all comes back.

a muthafuckin ore boat for an aim point? That's living!!!!

Played the Links Sunday, fun round, best $19 spent in a long time. The usual 96. Some great shots and really bad holes.

Monday hit JH Golf and Tennis, nicer course. Birdied the first. I'm always bogey/double on one. Knew i was properly fucked.
    carded a 105....

i thought under no circumstances should you put your bag on the green or the fringe of the green or anywhere near it. mickelson had i think it was a bunker shot and bones put his bag on the fringe of the green.

Fringe is generally ok to lay a bag down on I think. I wouldn't roll a pull cart or use a stand bag on the fringe though.

Most course rules about that stuff are for preventing long term wear around the green not because one persons bag would really do anything.

Had my first round in two years the other day. Been battling my back the last couple summers and wasn't allowed to swing.

Played bogey golf through 14 then kinda ran out of gas and ended up carding a 94.

Kept the ball pretty straight, but I've lost about 20 yards in length. Short game needs a lot of work still!

he put it up standing mostly on the fringe and very close to the putting surface, at least from the angle i saw it. i was just curious. i don't see pros do that much.
