Thanks for your feedback Tri! Much appreciated...

In other news, Polyass threads should no longer be appearing in your new posts page. Warning message going into Padded Room should read better now. You should also be able to enter your Google+ name into your Community profile vs. having to look up your Google+ ID number. Not that many here care, but someone asked for it.

Just a friendly reminder: if you're still experiencing issues we've said we've already fixed, be sure to clear your cache on your web browser. Just FYI... have a good weekend, mags!

I've been offline for a while and I don't know if this is due to a forum change or computer change... for those font issue people... what kind of monitor are you on? I can't read shit on my 24" ultrasharps at work but on my retina laptop at home, the font is not an issue. I don't get the 'disappearing' straight lines I do on my LCD.

Love it. A forum change, and it's not my problem. This is a great way to pass the summer.

    Tuesday lunch update:

-E-mail notifications should be working again
-PolyAss threads should no longer be popping up in New Post search/page

Still get PolAss when I push the new posts button. But they are all older than this update so maybe it just stops new posts going forward?

Where are the subscribed threads now? I don't need the community bs either, although it's kind of nice to know what I've shared publicly, although I wish it just lived in the forum.

it's bouncing between the two searches for me, with and w/o polyass, can't figure out why or any correlations.

1- can we get a 'forum search' button on the forum top bar on the 'new posts' screen? All i see is the magnifying glass for the entire site search.

2- can we get some logic or something to the search function? Like, at the least, sorting by last post, so when you do a search something from 2009 isn't the first result? Search 'fast cars' for an example.

3- can you make this thread the 'announcement' that is on the top of every page and replace/unannounce the 'welcome to the new whatever' thread?

-working on getting that sorted out.
-Logged that you're still seeing old PolyAss threads pop up, Moverblow'd. You're on windows w/Chrome, right? I'm not seeing any PolyAss posts in my new post search.
-Tye1, I've added the forum-specific improved search bar before but will check in to see where we are with that.
    -I'll update the announcment

Nope, here at work I am using OS X with Firefox 27.0.1. At home I am on OS X using Chrome. I just refreshed new posts here (on firefox) and the 4th thread or so down was a PolAss thread. I personally don't care about it, but I do know there was a very vocal group that hated PolAss in new threads.

    Performance Issue:
In IE9 , if I click on a link to a thread from a forum, the thread content takes awfully long to to load.

If, after I've clicked a threadlink, I refresh, the thread content appears relatively quickly.

This seems to be independent of whether a threadlink is clicked in the subforum or the main forum.

We've added a Forum Search link in the sub-nav when on the search page.
When you login from the forums it should always bring you back to the forums instead of your profile page.
We made an update to one of the 'New Posts' links to exclude PolyAss. Let us know if anyone still has issues.

OK, I see the issue with the PolAss now. It is indeed getting removed from newposts from the dropdown menu but not the button near the activity stream. Got it.

This may not be in tune with what everyone else like but just an idea. I see a lot of floating windows/task bars and whatnot on other sites. Had you thought of the possibility of having the top bar with the forum dropdown and whatnot scroll with the page to always stay on top of the browser window and not just the page? I see this with muse sites a lot. Helps reduce mad scrolling, you always have most of the tools easily at your disposal...

If this is an idea you like, I would certainly ask others opinions as I think there will be outspoken pros/cons from the crowd.

It's there, but it's black on blue. You have to hover over around there and wait for your cursor to turn into whatever yours turns into as a link rollover to find it.

See the tiny little box next to my name when I highlight it and the hover dialog when my cursor is over it? That's where it is.

We have a sticky navigation bar on the main site. Is that what you mean? We could look into implementing that here too.

imho this is a fucking fantastic idea. Wouldn't lose much area, and save a fuckton of scrolling back up to get to the new posts button again or whatever...

to see it in action click the home button up on the top bar there...
