The font is much more readable in the linked page in your post, vs. on the TGR forum, where it is poor --

On my computer (Chrome, on Win 7), the blue TGR style is hard to read. The white style is better, but it is fuzzy -- like it needs to be bolded to improve readability.

    Will attach screenshots shortly.

When I paste the screen shot into MS Paint, the readability improves. So (as Hugh said) there is some issue with compatibility with Chrome.

I thought Hugh was being sarcastic (?).

An example using Chrome. I have swapped back & forth between blue & white skins, changed zoom levels numerous times. I tried opening the forums in Explorer to see if that made a difference, but the whole thing timed out & wouldn't open.

Some pages seem easier to read in blue & some are better in white, but having to change between blue & white constantly is archaic.

    Yeah. That'll be the problem.

We all have system specific issues.....

Would it help if we try turning off and on again?

Edit: Seven seconds to load main forum page just now. Probably due to my gigabit web connection?

Thanks for cleaning a lot of the font stuff up over the last 24 hours. It does seem like white is now easier to read, I really can't read the font in the blue for that long though, which sucks, because I don't really enjoy staring at pixels firing white any more than I have to. I still prefer the old, but I'm trying to deal with the new.

Is this how fuzzy it looks are you read forum threads, or just this pop-up before you get to the Padded Room? It's not as crisp as the screenshot I've attached?

no not every page is that fuzzy but also not as clear as your screenshot.

Another example, on your post #151, the letters x, i & v (in Proxima Nova) are a noticeably different shade (lighter, almost transparent). Weird shit like this makes its painful to read.

Weird. FWIW, I am not having these sort of issues at all. Probably explains why I have no problem reading the new font but others are.

Not sure if this has been addressed already- but I no longer get instant email notifications from my subscribed threads (even when I mark them as such)?

Quick log in option from main forum page. Sucks having to navigate to another page then navigate back.

Also the previously mentioned quick search box

If this hasn't already been noted, the little black arrow that takes you to the last post should be a different color that's more visible- almost impossible to see with the original dark blue background - perhaps you're trying to incentiveize towards the white one?

    Friday update:

-Web team had a long meeting about post-launch bugs & improvements that need to be made, especially in the forums. I wasn't at the meeting as I had other duties, but will provide more details about what to expect with regards to improvements beyond the fixes you all are asking for in the short term.
-We are working on getting the PollyAss posts out of the new posts page ASAP
-PNW, you should only have been sent to your Community profile on your first login through. It was intention just to make the mags aware we had built this other part of the site that was kind of cool. If you keep having to go to your Community page and then back again to the forums in future logins, lemme know. PS integrating the upload tools and other life-simplifying aspects of the Community section into the forums was a topic in the above-mentioned meeting.
-Muggydude I'm logging the email thing you mentioned.
-ungulate I'm logging your comment about the dark last post buttons.
-Out of curiosity, how many people are experiencing the fucked-up hard to read fonts on Chrome on a Windows machine? We seem to be having more issues with people on that setup than other combos.

Thanks for working through this with us...

    I blame Google and Microsoft.

yes font issue is Chrome / Windows for me. I have also tried Chrome / Mac OSX & Explorer/Windows & its not much better. Really just don't like the font anywhere.

could be deleted threads. I'll check.

Where are you seeing "verified" pop up?

jamesp, roger on the community login bs. Do you mind posting a screenshot of a thread to show what the font is looking like in chrome on windows? This is what the white looks like for me, and I find it pretty easy to read:

acinpdx thanks for providing your browser specs...

Quick Search Box also going on the list.

We'll keep chipping away at these issues and requests as best we can, but be warned it won't be at a blinding pace over the holiday weekend... sorry. We'll keep at it, though.

Actually I'm starting to like the white background, reminds me of the old PowMag or TeleTips format, and easy to read. For some reason I think the sans serif looks better black on white than white on dark blue. No problem seeing the black arrow in that situation, of course. But for those who soldier on with the old dark blue setup, yeah.

People are so predisposed to piss and moan about change, but I think you guyz are being super responsive and doing a bang-up job with the transition to the new server. Just my worthless $.02.
