skied the emperor on 4.26. at that time you could drive only about a 1/4 mile up Stevens Gulch at best, and there was enough snow that it didn't look to be melting out too rapidly.

I was up at Grays this weekend. Stevens gulch was not passable without serious clearance. Saw some tire tracks at the beginning but I'm pretty sure they turned around. Wasn't paying close attention.

Snow in the forecast and I'll be at Opa's hut this weekend. Was hoping for a corn harvest but this'll work.

Looks like a big one headed our way. If it keeps snowing, I'll keep skiing.

always tough with these storms, they need to be big to make the skiing good on most aspects.

The storm only a week ago was a 4 day doozey that certainly was more than enough. Don't think this one will be a repeat in length - but isn't that difficult to get good in a hurry.

Whats going on with opensnow's forecast? 9-15 at Loveland/ABasin/Breck/etc. and 1-3 for Berthoud Pass? Doesn't make any sense...?

    Joel posted this yesterday:
"I am not personally making the snow forecast any longer, but our forecasts are still updated multiple times per day with a blend of automated data from the National Weather Service for 0-3 days, and the American GFS model from 3 days out to 10 days. "

Automated models do weird shit sometimes.

NOAA doesn't predict more than a few inches at Loveland Pass.

Daves Wave yesterday (Wed). Was frozen up top at noon and only softening down lower. But sweet stuff where smooth.

Preliminary numbers from my friends over at the NWS are up to 12" on Sunday. Could be looking at 3" down in town.

My wife cursed up a storm when seeing 3" on the porch this morning. I think she's ready for the summer.

^^ I agree, made some really bad decisions there as a CO rookie. Just curious how things are holding up along US40.
