I just leave the generic tour day stuff in the pack. My only checklist items are spirits and cigars....and, considering those have way too many options, it's usually decent highland malt and Double Ligeros.

I wish everyone still liked that foreign whiskey because the price of bourbon is getting too damn high.

Oh yea, eagerly awaiting the next post from someone out west that thinks he's a star because no ones ever seen him ski.

Yeah, you should probably stay away, for safety's sake. Skiing out here is pretty challenging. You might get hurt.

That is where the wolves find their easiest prey, usually snacking at lunchtime on humans that park their carcass comfortably under the springtime hang fire

The OP's FIS racing is legit. I've seen him race many times (long story). He's actually fairly well known in the area. As for the rest of this shit...

Someone earlier posted his masters FIS results. I sure hope he isn't racing NASTAR in a speed suit (one of the only times he doesn't carry).

Nothing wrong with skiing alone in dodgy conditions on steep terrain in my opinion.
Did you mention you hurt your knee getting in and out of a camper? Darwin. I would say this guy is free to do what he wants but of course there is something "wrong" with it. You can die, dumbO.

The only part of that line not nne is the top 200 feet if you choose to start skiers right, if you ski the thing direct fall line from the top it is nne for its entirety(EDIT: okay maybe one third is N, but nothing is NW). You're staring at Berlin the whole fucking time. Is Berlin not to the Northeast of Randolph? Or is this a case of typical Vermont centrism, a good line in NH must be facing Vt.

The more I look at your picture the more I am confounded. If your not just drawing lines on google earth images to try and prove your point why the fuck would you start the line far lookers left to just traverse more than a third of the vertical gained. And I don't buy that its steeper to the east. The steepest I found in the most boring line King Ravine has to offer, the seven, is climbers right.(blue line in pic below)

You're a Brit, it's natural for you to fear the CRADLE OF AMERICAN FREEDOM FUCK YEAH. Especially with so many 9mm's in the BC.

Revisiting the graveyard of imperial dreams can be painful. Think of all the skiable terrain lost to Britain when the Colonies took their leave. At least our recent misadventures only lost oil fields, not ski areas.

His best USSA results were 249 in SL and 173 in GS, although far more typical was mid to high 200s. Also a surprisingly decent number of SG results in the mid to high 200s, which in a way is more impressive given the limited Eastern opportunities for speed event training and racing.

Translated into English: This demonstrates a high level of technical skiing competence, especially on firm conditions and steep terrain. But puzzling why he ever paid for a FIS license at this level, given that from a competitive viewpoint, they're just middling USSA results, which wouldn't even seem to qualify for any FIS races.

Also kind of calls out his claim in the 2013 KR TR that his ski racing has been too demanding to ski for, well, fun. (Plus the ski racing season here pretty much ends just as the Presidentials spring season is starting up.)

    * I'd just like to add that it has been five years since I started ski racing, and as much as I love it, it has been five years since I have actually got in some skiing. With a tight schedule for racing in training, and having people down your throat about doing stupid stuff that could result in a season ending injury, it is IMPOSSIBLE to sneak off to the backcountry/side country to get in some play time. Yea, I do love racing, but being able to just go out and enjoy the day and not have to worry about results whatsoever would be nice. This trip would end the five year gap.*
