We, the RATBAGGERS, formally axcept our duty is to trigger avalaches on all skiers ...
i see what you guys are saying. skiers really ARE assholes. glad i learned to snowboard.
I'll ride w/ gapers but they buy the beer. @:-♢
Not a gaper quote at all but the two guys with long gray hair smoking weed on the chair in front of mine at Whistler--I'm guessing that they are well known locals--if so could the weed explain why one of them had a different kind of ski on each foot?
Sent an eBay seller a message a few weeks ago offering to buy some 14din 997s off of a pair of OG Sally prolink slalom "skies" (probably '94-'95 vintage) he was selling. I figured I'd lowball him with a $30 shipped offer. He got back to me and told me he already sold the bindings for $100. I replied, "Wow man, $100 for 997s. Nice score for you." He wrote back, "What do you mean nice score? I lost $800 on that deal. The 'skies' were only skied one run." Bwahahaha.
This is undoubtedly the poorest-informed thing about avalanches that I've ever read:

I had a ski instructor at Snowmass ski by me on telemark gear and say "Thank you for tele-ing".
I skinned to the top of a closed ski area this afternoon and ran into a few sled heads with their kids. After seeing me, one dad asks, 'you gonna ski back down'?

At Big Sky yesterday:
Older guy, with his wife and his son (8 years old, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, had just done the pond skim), and me on Ramcharger.
To his son: Man, you look like a gaper wearing that.
To me: Wait, you know what a gaper is, right?
