Watching this, I would have guessed they were a 60's-70's band. Looked them up and , duh. they formed in 1984 and the hit song "There She Goes" was done in 1988. The lead singer, Lee Mavers, kept on reminding me of someone. Thought maybe if he had a son it could be Ricky Dean Logan, the hippie freak that wants to cut the ogre in this scene... Maybe it's his brother separated at birth...

    Great character

Yeah, Lee Mavers is a bit of an enigma. The story is he was a perfectionist and was unsatisfied with how the album turned out (despite the fact it was really good). The La's were in the music press a lot from about 1988-1990 and then Mavers sort of disappeared without a trace. No follow-up album ever came out. I think they reunited and played one of the big summer music festivals in the UK in the mid '00s, but that was about it. What a waste. The guy was clearly a talented songwriter and musician.

Does anyone here listen to anything from the past 2 decades? I'm not exactly young...and I love a lot of old music, but fuck...nothing but really old music here. And a lot of it is the same hippy bs.

And please don't give me that..."all new music sucks" bs. There's more good music than ever now no matter what your tastes are. Use the GD internets and find the goods already GDmit!!!
