Yeah, but you have no friends on a powder day.

I'd say my best powder days are when I'm with friends. It's other people and their friends I can't stand

so another gaper quote by me popped into my head reading the above ...

back in the day at fernie, I know I know, me riding inbounds did actually happen ...

(timber chair from the carpark feeds white pass chair, where you want to be for the pow pow)

as usual I'm on first chair at timber chair, get down to white pass at mach10, go up, spank the pow, get back down to it and there is only a very few people, all of which where on the first 2 timber chairs ...

as I load I ask the lifties "where is everyone?" he points to the timber chair absolutely packed with people and not moving.

everyone was basicly above me ...

those people were pissed rite off. one guy told me we got 2 free laps while they sat there watching and only 12 chairs unloaded before it stopped. he was 8 chairs from the top. and yes, some people did jump off the chair.

ok ok, another lame quote from, wot else do you expect eh ...

I was at Snowbird skiing with three other people a few days ago. We were in the lift line for a quad. There was a single guy ahead of us. Him being ahead of us, we waited, but he was retarded and didn't move forward to get on the chair. Empty chair, wasting everyone's time. Then he told us to go ahead. We had already told him we were a group of 4. Two of us were in front of the other two because we were moving around the idiot in the lift line. As soon as the two of us in front moved into the loading area, the gaper moved up next to us before the other two people we were with had gotten past him. So it was me and one of the guys I was skiing with and this moron on the chair, and our two friends on the chair behind us. Then he pulled out a beer and asked us retarded questions.

Guy walks up to the clerk at Alta Sports (lower level of Albion day lodge) and asks if they sell oxygen?

I know a mag who once wanted to buy oxygen for ski touring ...

I laughed and said perhaps you should get fitter. thats wot summer is for. seriously, you want to carry a another how many pounds in your backpack ???

    ...

    unrelated to skiing or snowboarding,

I got asked if an air compressor is heavier when full, all I could do was stare at him waiting to see where this was going with this ...

as I type this I'm wondering how many mags are doing some mathamatical equation right now ...

that's why compressors are heavy-- they'd float away otherwise.

He also managed to trip the auto-stop trigger and somehow get hooked on some fencing to the point he couldn't get up on his own. This caused the chair to be stopped for a good 3 or 4 minutes (again, on a powder day, one of the first to arrive at the top).
Some particularly core backcountry skiers just never learn how to ride a lift. Could that possibly be the problem? Nah, probably not.

Meanwhile you get a head start on everyone else while they sit on the lift. This could be especially handy if you transferring from a lower mountain lift to an upper mountain lift. You could potentially pull of two laps on the upper mountain lift before the rest of the crowd catches up. Buy the friend a beer after.

Good buzz? If it gives a good buzz the US would probably ban oxygen.

Please tell me my sarcasm meter is broken.

Sit down.... Stand up.... I see people who can barely stand on their skis manage this feat all the time...

    That's what i said....

It wasn't like we were at super high altitude to begin with, 8-9k or so...felt no difference that I can recall. Though I was drinking when I tried it.

My wife likes to buy things.
