jesus, tiger sucked. whenever he implodes now i wonder if he's hurt again. or worse, it seems like he just gives up at a certain point. maybe i didn't notice as much before because he was rarely so far behind, but now his attitude is definitely different.

Played a morning 18 today. Light breeze with bluebird skies and a view of Rainier and her glaciers not 30 miles away. Temps about 25 on the first tee. Had to use my driver to hammer the tee in. Frost on the frozen fairways and the water hazards were iced over. More frost, nay more a thick layer of frozen depth hoar covered the greens. It was like chipping onto a hockey rink and putting through a puddle. Broke 90. Had fun. But I'll ski on Monday.

25* temps??!!??!! Never tried to swing in base layer/vest/puffy. Nice stick-to-it-iveness!

Definitely required an adjustment of swing, strategy and expectations. Think I had 3 3-putts, 7 doubles and a chip in bird. Really enjoyed the feel of a well struck ball and the glorious sight as the white orb arced off into the distance with Rainier in the background. The 3 times it happened. Might play 9 tomorrow if the nice weather continues

76 at Diablo Grande today. Chip and putt very well. Course playing easy with the dry conditions. They have a 25% water ration this summer so I need to get some rounds while it's still fun to play.

Just paid my club dues. It's -8F this am with 20" of snow on the ground. That's not encouraging.

I doubt if I'll be able to get on a practice tee or green before May 1.

Played yesterday, Idaho Falls hit 60 with scattered clouds but 15mph+ winds... Had a surprisingly good round, would have been in last season's top ten. I'm sure that's a bad omen for the rest of the season. Two sand shots within a foot and a 15 footer with over a foot of swing. 3 of 4 greens on the par 3's. Good times...

Played 3 rounds last week. My swing change has finally started to pay off. The courses in Western Washington are swamped in places. At one place I hit a drive and walked up and there was a 50 yard pond in the middle of the fairway where most drives land. I bet there will be a few hundred balls there when it dries up.

break 100, then try to break 90….no one cares about 94…….

all joking aside, 2 strokes over any 5 holes is 10 strokes, think in larger chucks IMO.

I remember once getting angry and aggressive about shooting a better score. The old timer I was playing with said "Wooley, your not good enough to get angry". Good luck Spook.

since my best last season was 102, i figured 7 strokes was a large enough chunk. i'll be pretty happy with 94. it means i'm closer to 90 than 100.

i don't get angry and aggressive much any more. i played a lot more calmly than i ever have all last season. my only melt down was, as related previously, when i was standing at the 9th tee at heron lakes great blue with 40 and shot a 10 or something and then recovered to be standing at the 18th tee with a 43 on the back 8 and still a chance to break 100 and shot a 9 and ended up at 102. i was ended up with a hopeless bunker shot to try to get up and down and i skulled it and sent it clear across the green and screamed YOUFUCKINGCUNT at the top of my lungs. my partner/bud was totally shocked because i never do that. i mean, i swear, but generally keep it to myself.

anyway, i just want to get better. i'm sure 102 isn't going to the be the best score i ever shoot if just for luck.

Please take no offense but when I couldn't break 100 I didn't keep score. Played as a young teen with my friends as a high 90's scorer. Didn't play golf for 20 years. Went out with some borrowed clubs and shot an 83 1st time out. Thought I was a natural. Took me 2 or 3 years to shoot under 100 again. After hitting another 10,000 practice balls I got pissed once at a ranger for pushing my group at the 6th hole and shot a 2 under 70 as a 12 handicapper. Funny game this golf. Just recently found the card after my move. Think I'll have it mounted in a gold frame and hang it by the toilet.

why would i take offense at your choice? i keep score because i keep track of fir, gir, ud, putts, etc. so i have a better sense of what i'm improving on or making repeat mistakes. last season i quit adding my score until the turn or at the end. the time i had my best chance to break 100 i made the mistake of adding things up after 8 and after 17. i did after 8 because i was playing so well. i did after 17 because i had blown up on 3 holes of 17 and knew i still had a chance.

^^tough track the first time around, definitely target golf.

I'll be returning this spring with that deal.

The first time I played there I parked my drive on the 4th hole green (blind downhill tee shot) over the heads of the group in front of us. They were extremely unpleased and proceeded to hit my ball way out of bounds. I had no idea that
    a. They were there
    And
    b. that I had that big of a drive in me.

I shoot my best scores in tournaments…partners have your scorecards… I get to just call my score out and not really pay attention.

I've played a lot of places. My favorite course anywhere is going brown due to the California drought:

    weather was perfect today.

    I shot a 94...I'm a 5.5 hcp. I (barely) missed 3 fairways and all were absolute bombs.

I went OB left on 4 approaches. Greens aren't mowed yet so putting is a joke, but still...wtf
If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it
