    FS: Canon 30d

Cross posted in gear swap. Canon 30d, 8MP, 5fps, great rig for a first foray into shooting with a DSLR. Includes battery and charger. Sensor loves dust more than a swiffer, but easy enough to clean. Included one of the last photos I shot with it just the other week. $100 + shipping

    2 questions...

Where was this before I popped for a brand new 4/3's?

    and

    Why is it still available?

Bump in hopes that someone buys this instead of a GoPro...

    Thanks, shot with a 17-55 f2.8 is.

I bought the camera used a good number of years ago and wanted to offer it up at the right price to a mag. Would love to go lower, but it's worth more to me than a lesser price.
I'll see if any of my accessories no longer work with the my new 60D. Maybe I can sweeten the deal with a remote trigger, 3rd party instruction/guide, and some other stuff...

Also, it's a metal body, not plastic like the Rebel series and no scratches on the LCD!

I might be interested. How user friendly is it? I want something that I can just turn the dial, point and shoot. I'm not good at setting shutter speed, aperture, etc.
any idea what a decent lens or two would cost me?
    Thanks!

EF is the canon lens mount that fits all of their DSLRs (this one included), including full frame. If it's a manual lens, the lens obviously won't be controlled by the camera.

It's super easy and intuitive to use. You can even set it on the little running man icon (sports) and let the camera do all the work for you. Of course, it would be a better camera if you actually took some time to learn how to use it.

Since you guys are the camera gurus, what would be a good two lens quiver to go with this camera?

Yeah, if you want to "step it up" you need to not let an electronic machine make decisions for you. Honestly, the option to change lenses might be beneficial, but if you want a PHD (push here dummy) camera, just use your smartphone.

I'm not being mean, I'm being honest. A DSLR on auto doesn't mean you are going to automagically get better photos.

Thanks. Don't get me wrong, I not afraid to put in some effort. Something user friendly (and some instructions) would be helpful. This seems like a good way to test the waters of the DSLR world without having to invest an arm and a leg.

Keep in mind lenses will cost you quite a bit. At least for good ones. The benefit is they can generally move from camera to camera.

The $100 f/1.8 50mm prime is pretty standard. The 18-55IS and 55-250IS kit lenses are ok for the money, nothing special but work while you're getting in to it if you aren't sure you want to spend a ton of cash. Incidentally, I have one of each of those for sale (as well at a 17-40L and a 24-105L if anyone's looking).

This. I think the 18-55 is running something like $70-100 on ebay. No idea about the 55-250. You will likely grow out of those lenses quickly if you shoot a lot.

Get a 50mm 1.8. You won't grow out of it and then from there you'll be able to see what glass is worth investing in. My roommate had a 18-55 and it's not nearly as sharp as the 50mm.
