What kills me is he (and other musicians) hear it in their head first at some time, or at least the basic framework. I also have music in my head, but it's more along the lines of "The wheels on the bus..."

^^^^Heh - that was my choice 200 posts ago in November. Still one of the best re-interpretations of a famous song IMHO.

Cute girl doing a great job covering one of my favorite NIN songs. Amazing what you can do with a MIDI sampler interface, a baby keyboard, a microphone, and a Macbook Pro these days.

Honestly I'd rather just hear Beck.

World Party are touring. Small, intimate venues. Catch them if you can. They/he are so under the radar. I got two nights in May. Can't wait.

"Ship of Fools" is probably my favorite but there's a lot of good ones. This recent version of "Put The Message in A Box" is pretty nice:

I was just reading about how he had a brain aneurysm back in 2001 and almost died and basically retired for 5 years…sounds good these days though.

Was just watching that, and wish there were more than 2 songs. Good shit. On the right side they linked to the Waterboys performance at KEXP which kicks ass:

So pissed at myself for flaking off and not going to the show last Fall, despite having tickets.

^ got me thinking of Zak Starky (drummer for Oasis and a great fit for The Who). One of my favorite exchanges between Zak and Pete. Nice build starting at about 1:30 ish. This was from a concert at Jones Beach NY back in 2002. Still ranks as one of the all time best shows I ever attended....
