Check out Dave's Picks Volume 8. I'm not a huge fan of the early 80s, but this show blows it out of the water. Really opened it up after the conservative RCMH shows. Was the first Matrix recording.

Been on a long Dead listening hiatus, like 10 yrs plus, but threw this on this morning and it made my day. Set two is a scorcher. Was one of my first tapes back in the day, crispy XLIIS

12/31/84 is good for the early-mid 80s. Nice NYE energy. Might be the only 1984 show that I have listened to 2x. That and the surprise Dark Star show (was that '84?)

Pretty sure that surprise Dark Star was 10/9/89 in Hampton unless you're thinking of a different one. IIRC, attics and death don't bust outs that night too. I spun the shit out of that tape back in the day.

I happened to bring a $100 bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers into the Hampton Warlocks show. I was sipping fine wine listening to Dark Star in the taper section.
A personal lifetime 'high water mark' of sorts.

I just got a great matrix recording of the July '84 show and am loving the scarlet touch fire. The C.C. Rider is fun also.

Here is a one from '81 that I have run through a couple times recently. Erratic in spots. Prolly due to the party favors of that time. Still very solid though. The Shakedown is fun and the Terrapin and Playin' are excellent. Enjoy.

    Who else here has XM?
Is it worth starting a thread regarding the days featured shows?
    Listening to tonight's 4/15/89.
Tepid, at best, with a few good moments.
I was at the show, but damn if I could remember a single thing about it (sober, taper nerd), and listening to it again made me realize why so many were 'just another night'.

I have it but have had problems with the feed the last couple weeks at home. Being an office jockey, I have listened pretty much everyday I am in the office for as long as I've had the service. Things got a little redundant but they seemed to have added quite a few new shows to the mix lately. The aud series that Gans calls has been good. Nice change of pace.

I think that Google Music All Access has every Vault release and Dick's Picks ever. So ridiculous.

    Root, how does it work?
    Cost?
Is it good streaming quality? (I am assuming pretty basic on that front)

Which is odd, since the song supposedly is about Mickey Hart's dad being a weasel, and running off with all of their money.
