I'm not even gonna pretend to understand half of what you say. My bad. But it's not marginal this year around here. There's deep soft snow collected and sheltered in the NE facing woods, easy slackcountry and generally safe from avys. As far as in bounds, it's been edge-able chalk which is a joy to ski on a sunny day that you just don't get in Utah. Too warm there.
But we've got new snow coming this week. It won't be the bottomless float of a big Alta powder day, nothing is the same. But it'll be good. And I'll come to Alta when I think I can ski a couple feet of fresh a couple of days in a row.
