How 4 different micro-breweries can have 4 different interpretations of "the law" regarding what's an acceptable growler to fill.

I never understood growler policies. Hell, why should it matter what container I get my beer in? I'm there to purchase a given quantity of their beer; their margins are the same regardless of what I choose to put it in.

One of the breweries here has different prices for different sizes, but you can take a gallon milk jug in and get a gallon of beer. Doesn't California forbid filling growlers that are not from the brewery?
