    TR: Wow, Winter Break Rules!

Do you remember being in elementary school and getting almost overstoked for your Christmas vacation? I’m lucky enough to still be in elementary school, this time as the teacher, and I’ll be honest. The stoked feeling for winter vacation never goes away. It only gets stronger! I was feeling nostalgic, or maybe just procrastinating my responsibilities of homework tonight. Either way, I decided to put together a classic TR of my vacation adventures.

Let’s just say Ullr was generous and delivered a perfectly timed powder dump the first night of break. Dave and I felt like elementary school kids and decided to ski some deep powder.

    I believe Ullr supports educators.

Dude, why are you so happy?

Then Dave, Mark and I checked out a different spot that received a ridiculous amount snow. It was actually too deep, or the fog had a negative effect on the top 6 inches of snow. No matter what, we were breaking trail both up and down, but still managed a few over-the-head deep turns.

With a break in the storm action, and blue skies, Dave and I decided to show our skiing ladies how rad we are. We took them sled skiing on the pass.

Large Marge loaded and ready to go with my daughter Kaikea and Dave’s wife Mel. If you ever see Marge ask us for change. Marge is easy to spot.

    Kaikea shredding

    Mel in her happy place.

    Me, just being a dad.

Then after Dave’s sled had a sudden urge to stop moving forward, Marge finally decided she had had enough for the day. A mysterious electrical issue caused her engine to stop running. “Ladies, this never happens!” was all we could muster.

A little head scratching, some time, and some luck, we were able to drive both machines out. “Phew!”

Ullr once again showing support for public education starts puking all over Eagle County. I suck at photography, but Kaikea and I raged all over Vail mountain. I managed one shot of her somewhere near chair 5.

Bluebird again, so let’s go for a skin. Went out with my wife, daughter, and dog for a beautiful day. There is nothing better then skinning, skiing powder with my family. Truly the ultimate!

Add then……….the grand finale. I swear, Ullr knew that school was about to start again and gave the most generous gift of all, total blower pow, the ultimate in exploding snow, the stuff we all dream about. Completely unbelievable!

I just don’t get why this guy is smiling?

    Somebody?

Wow! That was an amazing winter break. We are stoked in Colorado to finally have our winter back. I would like to thank Ullr for…….well everything. I hope you enjoy the stoke!

NOTE: If it’s a sick photo, the credit goes to Dave Bourassa. Check out his Facebook page, if you need more visual stoke. Way too many incredible pictures to post.

I finally just stuffed the urge to pack up the wife and two boys and move to colorado from North Carolina. Now you go and post this and that feeling is rearing its nagging head again. Nice stoke, awesome pics. You are way cooler then any elementary school teacher I ever had who did nothing but complain about winter and wish for retirement.
