dream more. visualize. you can hear it, the grains of snow raking past you, they are slightly muffled on the bibs, but have a higher tone on the nylon of the jacket. Dip your hand and arm into it, watch it slide up and over the shoulder. You can feel the snow give way as you press down, select your depth, feel the ski bend and give back, its silly. is it a tear in your eye, or just the wind blowing through your shitty goggles making them water, either way, how the fuck can you be gliding through the woods and realize your thinking about the water on the corner of your eye. the movement is automatic, you could think of a thousand things while trees disappear out of your peripheral sight line or nothing at all or maybe your wondering if the camera on your head will show you later what you are missing right now thinking about the camera on your head. wait, trees? what trees?, you've been staring down the blanket of white, the one that took away all the contours of the ground underneath it and left you this, like a beach in the morning before anyone got there, no prints, oh wait, what the hell, rabbit tracks? Why is always fucking rabbits, and why do they always only ever sink in the same amount no matter the consistency of the snow? Its only when you stop you realize how the wind sounded, how quiet the woods are, the woodpecker, the pain in your canine tooth because you drink to much coffee, are killing your enamel and every time you ski your smiling, the air hurts your teeth, oh well.

    enjoy the storm

Good words. I've wondered that about the rabbits as well. If you started your day with bacon, it might have gone something like this:

I am not alone after all. Three ravens are wheeling near the balanced rock, squawking at each other and at the dawn. I'm sure they're as delighted by the return of the sun as I am and I wish I knew the language. I'd sooner exchange ideas with the birds on earth than learn to carry on intergalactic communications with some obscure race of humanoids on a satellite planet from the world of Betelgeuse. First things first. The ravens cry out in husky voices, blue-black wings flapping against the golden sky. Over my shoulder comes the sizzle and smell of frying bacon.

That's the way it was this morning."

Fuck this bum knee. I'm going to skiing tomorrow. Any Boston mags want a ride tomorrow AM? I'm thinking of doing Mansfield backcountry, but other ideas are welcome.

Nabbed 21 runs at the mighty Ski Bradford, took a bit over 2 hours at 240 feet of vert per lap....using the slowest chairlift on the planet. Their other chairs are a bit faster and the rope to is a lot faster LOL

Then I went up to SoMe and nabbed a couple of tasties for my fridge (Whoopie Pie Stout and Box The Compass). Great to see the Daves and get good brew. Wish I could have stayed longer, but family obligations had me on the road all too soon.

what's the consensus on trees being in play tomorrow? i haven't left boston in a few weeks, so no idea what's lurking below. safe to assume manny and jay will be in after tomorrow, but others maybe not so much? my definition of "in play" might be a slightly more conservative than others...

at any rate, planning for dawn patrol at either mrg or killington... and would like to meet some folks

what's the earliest one should plan to be off the hill before opening bell at mrg?

I'd be really careful doing any bc at notch area or jay. Don't think it's in yet, even with this weekends snow.
