and just think of the new set of eyes you'll have for gardening in the off season. you'll be the master cutter marquetteerer. you'll be clearing lines right down to the subsurface knowing you'll only need but an inch to slay the day away

If you are looking for some techy weather stoke for this weekend, check this link. Snowstorms seem to be more finicky than other weather in the NorthEast, but I like it when the weather guys get excited for a big snow.

    Play the video.

No one really tele turns the Marquettes. Rip alpine turns. It's what the skis want. Alpine is not that different from tele anyway. Every skier should have some sort of back woods ski with 3 pin bindings. There's no rule that says you have to drop a knee. Even on p tex I only drop a knee when I need to. It's a waste of energy to make every turn telemark.

Recently the importance of bindings has really come into question for me. I am a gear minimalist as it is, but a few weeks back after breaking trail all the way to the Gondi House and startin to head down for my annual virginal gutting of a blown-the-heck-in Chin Clip...my binding broke. I was devistated. Turns out ya don't really need a hardwire. I was able to ski Gondolier with essentially no binding on 1 foot. I'm an intermediate so it was not due to my amazing technique. A skier can get it done on alot less gear then the might think with all the fandangled heatmolded dynofutzing. OGE for cheap old but good enough tele boots...check the holes for the pins. get something low with a buckle or two and nice looking pin holes...probably 75-100 bucks. Too cheep ta not to for an amazingly capable setup.

Not sure how many of you read National Geo. or can read at all for that matter, but this may provide some perspective on ski gear and technique.

    Rad.
Anyone ever try the modern version? Always thought they were cool, and fit somewhere in a similar category with the marquettes, but have yet to find myself on a pair.
    One of these days....

Anyone going to make it to Jeff Lane's avy education on early season snowpacks this Saturday? Not sure if I'm going to make it up to North Conway this weekend due to my knee.

Guess I was cursed for talking about knee issues earlier here. I have bursitis in my left knee bad enough that I can't bend it much. On a steady diet of naproxin and tramadol so there is hope.

Figures that a big storm may hit Sat night Sunday and I'm out of commission. Hoping I can improve this knee in a few days.

Hey nf. Rest that knee buddy. Bursitis is a bitch. Over training? Your doing something that knee dont like - running? Excessive weights? Slow it down / change it up. Have dealt with it in my left hip in the past (driving an old f800 with a bitch of a clutch for two commercial tree spray seasons in greater Boston traffic) If it persists it could haunt you all season. Shut me down for a month (got me out of that truck! ) Rest my friend. It is a long season.

I need some Valium, Xanex, Percocet, Darvocet, Vicodin, Klonopin, sleeping pills and Nyquil.
I can't sleep yo and it's driving me mad it's like my eyelids are glued to the top of my forehead.
I lie in bed with my eyes wide open but Duddy don't you worry you'll be sleeping in a moment,
Then moments turn minutes and minutes turn to hours then hours turn to long ass nights and cold showers.
It's four in the morning still wide awake let's see how many bong tokes Duddy B can take.
I already drank all the alcohol left in my house now I sit here wide awake with a dry fucking mouth
And I just think of all the things on my mind and then I let um roll around about a million times
Until it's got me you it grabs a hold of me baby, it's insomnia kids you know its driven me crazy.

EASY ^^^^^ Put the gun down!

16.3` bob wiyh 4 15/16" of dandelion fluff falling yesterday/overnight.Currently snowing lightly.
Wish we could get some base buikding wetish snow as there is nothing much under teh powder. The Cat storm vid mentions high ratio snowfall which should result in some sled action Sunday for the WW poach crowd.

east or bust, I have one set of ascension skins which are fab., and 7 pair of G3 bought on closeout and not quite as grippy on the climb. Here is a deal on some used ones if they fit your sticks.

Talking to my granite fabricator yesterday setting up a kitchen install today and he mentioned they are doing the new Peak Lodge at k-mart. 26' bar with 6' and 9' returns and two 8 tap towers. Too bad it won't be open Saturday.

    dood, you need a fatbike

just did a fabulous loop this am. 20 degrees when I left the driveway with a nice layer of snow covering everything. with a 2 mile road spin each way to the trails, the 9psi in the tires was perfect for everything from pavement (extremely icy this am) to snow on new soft trail, and even some 29er wheel stopping mud/water (fucking flew through that shit!). what a fucking hoot this thing is.

grabbing the dog to go try and finish a new trail that im building before heading to work.

big storm on the way! yay!!!!

vibes rob and strawjack. heal up fast.

    rog
