Which is a better buy? A combination of
    This for $9.86

    and this for $9.86

    Or this for $19.86

There's a .14 difference but you get 2 different um designs.

    out here in the flatlands,
everyone reffers the their quad or sideXside as a bike ???

which farking genius coined that term ???

maybe bike is easier to pronounce than quad,
coz there are alota people with speech impediments around here,
and first cousins marrying too ... no shit, its like everyone is related ...

maybe thats why they like me so much, fresh blood in the gene pool ...
We, the RATBAGGERS, formally axcept our duty is to trigger avalaches on all skiers ...

He stopped in the middle of a high traffic run, just below a blind roller, and allowed his kid to ski out without checking uphill. Not sure how this video is any proof that Go-Pros should be banned - if anything they're that much more valuable in documenting what occurred.

I'd be very upset if my kid was hit on the hill, but if it is my fault because I'm not watching my child and not teaching him to ski safely, I'm going to be upset with myself.

Boarder's fault. If he has to balance himself on the grom at 4:16 (look at the shadow) to slow himself down he is not in control of his speed.

Most common excuse I hear as a Patroller, a gaper qoute of its own is: "I didn't know he was going to turn/stop/fall in front of me!"

A close second is "I didn't know that run (with the closed sign/fence/ribbon/snow making equipment/220 VAC/rocks/tree stumps) wasn't open!"

I had the misfortune of riding the lift with a ski instructor today.

Douche Instructor: You could ski those things down the mountain sideways today!
    Me: indeed
D.I.: why do you need such big skis? Its not like its snorkel deep.
Me: Its more fun in soft snow
    D.I: I don't get it?
Me: well you should try it sometime and you will get it.
D.I: no way man these are plenty wide for me.

For the record there was about 8 inches of fresh, I was on protests, he was on skinny ass dynastar carvers around 170.

Had that conversation a few times with some douche instructors a few times who still think fat rockered skis are for people who don't know how to ski. As Shane would say, "I won't wait for ya at the bottom".

In lift line today, not really a gaper quote (those I reserve for me...)

Guy starts talking about Gandhi dying last week. Puzzled guy asks "what? Who are you talking about?" Answer, that guy from Africa.

Snowboarders before skiing the ribbon of death yesterday:

"Dude we gotta make sure we bring all the cameras this time"

    skier guy walks up

    "Do you guys splitboard"

    "Yeah a little"

"Yeah I ski at the resort and snowboard in the backcountry"

I mean split boarding is cool and all but why on earth would you use skis in the resort where you don't have to do anything but go down and a snowboard in the BC where you have to turn your snowboard into skis to get anywhere? Maybe I thought this was funny just because of my wanting efficiency in all things.
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

That one was second only to: "Hi my name is Patrick and I'll be your ski instructor today."
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Overheard today in Alabama from an individual giving advice to another person on where to ski...

"Yeh Snowshoe (WV) is as good as Utah and Colorado and has the same length of slope and snow texture quality."

it wasn't a douche instructor, just an old german fart who was only a bit douchey, but on a powder-day lift ride he says to me (twice mind you):

"Ya, anyone can ride powder on those ... "

me on my Lotus 120s, him on something skinny and straight.
frankly I don't care much what you ride on, as long as you find the fall-line and make turns around it.
In search of the elusive artic powder weasel ...

It's always been a dream of mine to be so wealthy that I could own one house that I would exclusively outfit with things from the Skymall catalogue just for the hell of it.

Meadowskipping on Sunday on old Gotamas w/ Dukes. Ran into an older couple out touring on telemark gear.

Mr. Tele: Out practicing your tea turns?
El Chup: What's a tea turn?
Mr. Tele: You know, telemark turns.
El Chup: Would be difficult on these (gesturing at Dukes).
Mr. Tele: I don't see why... drop a knee, try it out!
El Chup: Uh... OK. Have a good day.

It seems every few years I'll bump into someone on Silvretta 404's trying to tele on them in tour mode. Looks really awkward.

The only thing similar is the price of a lift ticket. I stood in the longest lift line in my life at Snowshoe.

Riding the gondola with one friend and randoms, made some sort of comment about gapers....people mentioned they had heard the term online before, and wondered what it meant, so I very politely and with a lack of irony explained it to them.....
