I didn't bring the measuring tape but I'm pretty sure that the mighty HUNTAH was not as deep on opening day as the Bush or elsewhere in northern VT. It is, however, very safe to say that me and ScottSki had far less competition for the woods and fresh tracks than at any other open resort.

It's equally safe to say that I am glad that I left my Worth's at my dads house, and was instead on a pair of 2006 goats that.... needed a tune already.

Still, the grass was fast and the smiles, pretty damn large. Can't wait for my season to really start in 2014, but I was definitely grateful for what I got today.

Next time I go back, Hunter West and Westway! (fingers crossed).

Looks like a few inches of danelion fluff Sat night into Sunday and the Whites and Maine might get some snow Wed.

    The coastal system says:

I think it clearly says dick . But apparently I'm the only one that saw it / am the only one juvenile enough to get humor out of the coastal storm looking like a flacid to hard penis.

anyone want to go check out left gully early AM wed/thu/fri or next weekend weather permitting? looks like a few inches of precip tonight into tomorrow with some wind that might be mellow enough to fill stuff in rather than blow it right off the mountain. might be some sliding to be had? or it might end up just being good exercise carrying skis up and down the hill? either way i will probably be headed up if anyone is interested.

You might want to mark that CL post as NSFW [and foul as well]

Of course I didn't label it foul, didn't want to offend someone's wife....

ML, I thought Hunter was more crowded than that? I'll have to drive down.

Got a call from Eug who was looking to ditch the family in NJ and go skiing so I said "come on up". Dinner at the Slide brook Lodge last night found the local characters as entertaining as usual. Cl woman should ''get a room" there some night.
Late [7:30] breakfast = no morning update{sorry rog [it was nice out]} and decided to set Eug up on the 4FRT's so we could avoid teh Saturday street shitshowand look for some powdah.

Keep stepping, the still air, sun, gurgling water courses and chick-a-dees chicking made for a great skin.

I heard Burke was holding the goods so we gave it a shot, Eug nearing the summit with Jay in the background.

Thumbs up! How can you beat a day that's around 18`at the summit with a 3-4mph breeze and an awesome view

I think he was pleased with his first run of the season and got into the woodsie road runout

We ran into the Driven One and skied a run with him, forgot to say in parting, Have a great time at Taos next week.

Vtf - Props on crushing the early season bounty, looks more like Feb. than Nov...looking forward to a sleeper late Dec.day in Slidebrook with any luck, anti jinx!

VTCS - I've got some private land in Bakersfield that could be a powsurf playground with a little "management".

30.0` light breeze and overcast bob. Freight train NW winds arrived around 7:30 last night and blasted the loose snow in the yard away, shoud be some bounty to slay in a few areas that were refreshed. I think I will spin a few laps on the WROD before it gets too busy, with the opening of Gatehouse I can ski out, ski in again which takes the hassle of driving out.

    Get after it!

    I kinda enjoyed Ktown yesterday...
Granted, it was the typical land grab, especially with so little of this mtn complex available.

With the natural snow hanging around till the end of the day and the temps keeping it from
consolidating, there was plenty of this to be had all around with the corners wind loading on the upper third.
    Attachment 145641

Of course Ktown served up it's obligitory vw lot just about anywhere you could find pitch.
    Attachment 145643

Good grass skiing was had on mouse trap
(although it required laps on the gondi) made
me think this might be doable with a real rock ski.
    Attachment 145644

Unlike VTF, my professional photog had the day off.
I could have populated with gaper shots of me loosing a fight with a snow gun or the many
interminable slides as I await purchase on the fine ktown base everyone knows and loves.

Upper body should be pointed down the fall line.
Get those hands up and in front.

    Just trying to help.
