should get a shit ton of trail building and a ride in tomorrow. now we wait for winter #2.

Chute looked considerably less skiable in person, unless you're pretty darn rad

Boy was Kmart crowded today - looked a lot more like mid-December than pre-Thanksgiving. Fortunately the same can be said about the amount of terrain they had open.

    Very nice spring skiing.

Couple of pics to show conditions:

Top of Cascade was a bit thin - I suspect it will not be open tomorrow

The Superstar headwall was open and skied very nicely

Natural terrain not quite there yet

Overall - beautiful day to start off the season

^^^ Lots a pepper in the middle of Chute.

Just great that you skied Left in November. Never done that.

    Nice feather in the cap.

Good to be back in the TGR saddle. Nice PC! I was wondering if it was in. Too much to do this weekend, but if it somehow survives next week....

I did however work some first turns in out west last weekend....not too shabby a start to the season.

Donno where you were skiing... but I took 20 laps on Superstar this morning and rode the lift by myself for at least 15 of them. Epic early season groomers.

Quite a bit of snow blown in there! I didn't think to probe it and get a depth, but I think barring some really massive rain tonight/tomorrow there's a good chance it will set up as the base in there for the season. Itching to run back up and get some more turns in this morning, but alas, gotta do all the "important" "real-world" things I have been putting off to live in skiing-in-November fantasy land this week. Gonna try to get back up there Tuesday after this weather blows through and see how things are looking.

Dry styrofoam. The kinda stuff that's easy to boot up and easy to ski but you are right on the surface and don't leave a track at all on the way down. Schwack was pretty heinous, lots of thrashing around and falling into bushes and randomly busting through crust up to my crotch while being heckled by a whole Boy Scout troop at the base of the ravine.

love the effort, PC. what you described is just how I imagined it would be. done many early season assaults on left, right, and others. the schwack is worth it to get on some real terrain. gonna be a skating rink once this rain passes and we go into deep freeze mode up high. any bit of snow on the back side may be a bit touchy. if winds are strong enough, some good tamping could lock any new snow in place pretty well. but that climbers upper right could be quite sporty

    maybe sunday.

4+ hours of trail building this am. put in quite a long section of new one track. fucking deer ticks galore. pickin em off me by the dozen, but well worth dealing with em to create mtb fun. surf comes up tomorrow for the week. yay mid week waves. fucking bout time. sick of weekend waves.

Quick shout out to VT_freeheel. He hooked us up with VT's finest: heady topper on our way out of town! Thanks and good sharing some Edward at Mad Taco with you! Catch you during the season.

TC, sorry we didn't catch you. We did go into Cambridge to the Main St. Bakery yesterday. I know you were north. Next time.

Thank you all for the recommendations!
