ne freak out pas, I'm just gonna be learning on rolling terrain, 3-pin old-school style in lace-ups.

So I'll still be taking the one plank for the gnar for likely quite some time yet!!! Speaking of which, looks like it'll be taking some laps tomorrow...

best way to learn. when i went from snowboarding to skiing i went that exact route, well that's pretty much what was available for tele gear. skied everything on george with lace up leather/pins then progressed the gear from there. you'll lock em down in no time! took me 12 years tele to finally go the training heal route. fun!

Making the Virginia drive right now. Definitely not a short drive by any means.

About time Lionel, making me look bad. Nicely done!

Glad to hear it ripper, maybe we'll actually catch up this season instead of passing each on slopes and not realizing it.

Was at killington most of the day, wasn't as crowded as I thought it was gonna be. Got a free lunch, too. Not a bad first day.

Both Chin Clip and Gondolier will still be fine Saturday morning for about a thousand vertical from below that cliff under the gondola.
Above that was getting a bit beaten up.
Below that, well, on my final lap, I did ski to the parking lot, but that was mainly transportation skiing.
Pictures of TC to follow tomorrow...

I wore that album completely out from playing it every day for years in college

Goniff and a couple others went to Killy yesterday and said it was surprisingly good and not that crowded. Think I'll sample it tomorrow.

Day 1 in the books. K-ton tomorrow. Ask for change if you see a tall dude with last years Bacon's.

Took the leisurely afternoon stroll with the dog and found powder-ish like snow up high. First turns of the year felt pretty sweet! Snow was picking up around 4, continued strong as I left - still snow down to the Toll Rd.

Stowe is often almost kind of crowded for early-season snow: lots of moderate-angle grassy terrain, lots of snow up high, great attitude from management, and no fear of an early-season opening since no lifts serving only the upper mountain.
Often the parking lot near the gondola is about half full, and the most popular lines get tracked out very quickly.

I know, I was trying to be funneh. I used to ski there weekly for a few years some years back. I stopped going there due to the skinning all hours of the day and night skiing population there when it snows more than 2 inches. storm skiing days with skinz in my coat when the Gondi would be on wind hold all day were really good. not enough of those tho. nice shots! looks thin. yer skis survive?

get it while it lasts! Slow day on here, lots of folks outdoors today huh. Sunday River lappage yesterday, now I'm waiting for next cold clear snowmaking window, or random mountain dumpola.

In the meantime, coffee reading on mounting skis up DIY.
