The view at Mammoth (on 3/23/13) looking up past the tips of my Lhasas from the lower Gondy:

This should give an idea of current coverage. Hopefully Mother Nature will provide some refills in the coming months.

I'll post some pics later today, but the upper mountain is still fat, but lower elevations are burning out fast. There are no steps walking on/off the Gondi at mid and top stations.

How is the windbuff on the upper mountain? I ask because I'm deciding whether to head up tomorrow at 4 am or surf this weekend. Thanks in advance.

I can't do Mother's Day weekend, it's probably the last time I'll have my mom here to celebrate her.

I'll be up next weekend (the 12th), and definitely one more time before end of season. May 3rd works for me.

I have a bunch of BAF invites left, if anyone needs one.

    Momma Day- no can do.

Memorial Day- will be on a yacht in the Maldives.

Any weekend in between I can do. If there's hookers and blow, that will increase the probability of me being there.

    Works for me.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

It has been called. Cinco de Mini works for us.
We'll be there hopefully Friday through Sunday with the mini-magette and her ton of baby stuff in tow.
Will be looking for some BAF hookups.

Question now is what is better with the baby: Stay up at the Mammoth Inn so when the kid goes down to nap and someone has to watch her we can do that in an easily accessed room walking distance to the skiing or would it be better to rent Asandygals studio which would be baby-monitor distance from the party/hot tub at night?

^^ Lego, I would say the inn. Canyon is done 4/21, and I don't think little eagle is going to make it to this weekend.

On the flip side, the skiing was real fucking good today!!

Guess I'm making it a L-O-N-G week as I'll be down there April 28/29/30/ and May 1st...

Speaking of which, I'm looking for an uber cheap (preferably free) place to crash for those last days of April (I'm a poor ski instructor), after that I'll be camping. If anybody has a couch or an empty room they would be keen to offer up, that would be muy bueno.

I try every year and every year you guys plan it away from Japan's Golden Week holiday. If, this year, it is on the 3/4/5/6 May, I think I am in...

Ok, I will start planning for that weekend. Never been to Mammoth, what is the best way to get there from one of the international airports (SF/LAX)? I would prefer to fly but is there only a little private airport down there?

Oh, and can I get some footage from minis past so as to help convince my now SF based buddy, Soprano, to make his way with me?

Like M of G said, you can connect to Mammoth through LAX of SFO, but the flights are limited. Renting a car from either is possible, roughy 5-6 hours to Mammoth from either airport. It is possible, but difficult to get to Mammoth through a combo of buses and trains, but it is is not easy. It takes a bus then a train then a bus to do it. Many out of town mags have hit up locals who are going for a ride. I am not sure if I can make it yet, or which days if I do, but I would be happy to give you are ride if it all works out.
