Based on the NOAA remote data numbers, it looks like the snow level is around 8700 feet at the moment. Its raining on the Kirkwood cam.

I skied at Heavenly this morning.
Started with rain at Stagecoach (Elevation 7,400)
Transitioned to snow at around 8,000ish.
Was a mixture of snain, sleet, freesing drizzle drazzle drone, heavy snow and even some slightly lighter drifting snow on the way further up.
Poor vis. above 9,000. About half an inch to an inch of accumulation up high by 11:00.

thanks guys - any and all help always appreciated

just trying to keep the family skiing for the next few weeks while some lifts are spinning before Sonora Pass opens

also trying to keep the young lad stoked on racing / competing by taking him to some alternative venues - he skied really well at Squaw last weekend and I think he's ready for something fun like this

he'd be stoked to have some more Maggot supporters - Cinders and Turx got the full treatment - Schralph and MLG got to see his 1st ever DQ last weekend

Ladies and gentlemen, the tahoe thread has officially reached new levels of dorkdom.

The winter sucked, no matter how many lame ass photos of snow that 'doesn't look that bad',.............. and now it's the cougar hook up thread.

    See you next year.

No shit! This is gayer than a bunch of snowboarders having a circle jerk at the San Francisco Jacks.

Yep. I am buying a bike today. Ullr, I am looking forward to riding it now that you have taken the snow and returned it to earth. Don't disappoint me.

Hoping a little negative psychology does the trick. But I am buying a bike today. Might as well have something to look forward to before the beach warms up.
I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

I'm shopping for a new mountain bike this week too. Might hit some range balls after work. First week of April - fuck.

BA sounds optimistic for the storm around the 15th, but I'll remain skeptical until all of the models are in complete agreement.

I'm shopping my Giant Anthem 29 around if you want to check it out. I also just git some clubs. where are you hitting a bucket?
amen on the skepticism. the more the pattern repeated itself this season, the more optimistic BA got in the medium range.

This winter sucked. No real storms in 2013.

And since the move to Open Snow, it seems like BA's forecast for all of 2013 was "big changes ahead, about 10-14 days out, we could see some major snow." And then 10-14 days came, and nothing happened... and repeat for all of Jan/Feb/Mar.
