^Insufficient Greydon Clark stoke.
...but definitely sufficient knee cartilage. Sick edit. My legs turn to jello just watching.

Anyone competing in the Kirkwood banked slalom April 13?
Throwin' Owen will be there. He's so much better than you.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Really good warm pow laps this afternoon on the Nface of relay peak. If my internet stops sucking so bad I might even post a photo or 2...
Remember a few weeks ago when I joked about the Cornice II lift at Squaw actually being functional because it almost never spins? Well, sounds like they're removing it completely...

I literally haven't ridden on it once in the past 2 seasons, but not for lack of trying.
^ Capacity has to be reduced somewhere on the mountain before they can increase capacity with new Rad Dog and Granite Chief lifts....a bunch of meaningless lifts were removed to cover Big Blue...but losing CII is a sad thing.
at least the new red dog chair is good news...
it's still not stopping me from crying about the closing dates.
yes, there's no snow this year...
but this new precedent of closing in april is my worst fear come true.
squaw's season has been trimmed by 6 weeks in the last 6 years.
dear KSL,
please stop shortening our season.
thank you,
jahroy
Still waiting...
Best zone in north lake currently
Does Alpine have a closing date? Vail has inched ours forward as well. Not that KW ever made it more than a week into May with two MDW openings in the past decade. But it still hurts.
Vail hasn't really done anything to closing weekend at KW that wasn't already precedented. (Well, as far as dates are concerned ... Bag search and snowball fight is a different story)
Besides, earlier closing dates just means earlier skinning access.
Opening weekend on the other hand ... We could have gotten going a lot earlier this year.

I'll be there." ... Andy Campbell
lot's of stuff about new lifts and removing old ones at SV and AM on unofficial alpine and unofficial squaw
powdork.com - new and improved, with 20% more dork.
I could be wrong, but the scheduled closing date was traditionally the last weekend in April. It is the third w/e of April this year. Not a big deal, but I was hoping to get my son out for one last day of lift served this year. But that is not going to happen. Oh, well, guess I get more skinning time sans familia.
[old man voice]Back in 95' we were lapping Heart Chute on Memorial Day, so much snow there wasn't even an air[/old man voice]
Took some laps at Alpine today out to grouse and around sherwood. They closed access around 11:30. Surprised on how perfect the corn was! I kept looking at the mtn top temps early this morning and put off going BC because I thought it would be glop. It was actually pretty firm until 10 (gloomy cloud cover), but then it was perfect from 10-11.
"He thinks the carpet pissers did this?"
A welcome sight - PMGear Lhasa Pows on my feet and untracked pow below:
A bonus powder day at Kirkwood on Monday, April 1, 2013 - no foolin'
I hope that we get a few more of these before they close.
