I heard second hand that 6 at Kwood was open for 5 minutes yesterday, then a avi took a patroller for ride and they closed it. I didn't hear of any injuries.

6 didn't open at all. I posted up in the queue two different times. Patroller did go for a ride though. Escaped unscathed I heard.

I think this is good new (For Now)
Here is a shitty Cell pic from in front of my Trailer in Verdi. The Sun just came out, but the Wind picked up again I assume blowing in the next pulse of weather
But this picture shows shows that for the past hour or so the snow level was down to about 5,500 feet. (Much lower than predicted)

    Proper nouns much?

Knuckledragger thanks for the offer - I've got a buddy with a fully functional shoulder who is going to help out so I don't have to trek across the bridge, but I might want to hook that up later in the season. My snows usually don't come off until Memorial Day ish. 19mm nuts, and I don't have the proper socket, but that's easy to resolve.

So it looks like Splat is going to need a sand bag removal party. Good news for Reno/Sparks...

Multiple Sierras means multiple ranges. Sierra Nevada mountains is pretty redundant. I know the whole Sierra/Sierra's conundrum:

Rocky Mountain Range should be called "The Rocky?"

    Cascade or Cascades?

    Teton or Tetons?

Started snowing hard on the North Shore @ 6400' around 10am. Put down 4 inches, until noon when it started raining again and washed away most of it. Sun is out now.

Storm coming in on Tuesday/Wednesday is forecast warm also. So sick of the rain.

Looking ahead 6 days, looks like TAFF is reserved seating this year. Hopefully that resolves the shitshow of "what time are doors really" and having it impossible to get seats for 4+ if you don't get there early to camp out.

    PD, you and hutch coming?

currently sun and melting margarita mix at 6200. Hopefully Splat dodged the bullet today...

wifey asked how the sand bagging went yesterday- i told her "perfect":
we got to hang out with the guys, wear old clothes, get as dirty as we wanted to, swear, burp, fart and scratch anywhere, and use a bunch of big tools. Then we had beer and pizza. Doesn't get better than that.
Good on all of ya- let's do it again. Maybe not this week...

Unless a warm blast of rain blows into the mountains, word is we dodged the bullet. Came within 16 inches of jumping the bank and was still rising when I left the factory 20 minutes ago. But once it was reported it wouldn't go over, we bagged it for some R&R after some long, hectic days. Here's a shot of how close it came...

Still want to thank all the great maggots who came by and pitched in to help us in the event it hadn't turned cold.

Quite the shit show down on Foxmead, with the Weather Channel filming from my business partner's back yard, kayakers going by, the occasional log, etc.

Props to Travis Ganong for a very strong race at the Beav, BTW.

Coop said dust on crust after his first lap. Still bombing and no 6 or 10 yet. Good slide down the wall from a hand charge. That's all for now ...

Working 3 or 4pm to 1:30 am does have its perks.

Rose did feel like a Saturday until they popped the Slide side at about 11:40am. But even before that the lift line was 5 minutes? Looked worse than it felt. Kind of like ......eh......
